Within the centuries-old walls of Houghton Hall in Norfolk, England, Dame Magdalene Odundo’s latest exhibition showcases works both old and new from her illustrious 40-year career. Sponsored by the LOEWE FOUNDATION, the exhibition mirrors the practices at the heart of Odundo’s artistry: the melding of historical and contemporary crafting methods, playfully responding to the traditional functionality and grandeur of Houghton Hall’s State rooms. Alongside existing pieces that explore diasporic identity and the role that objects play in intercultural relationships, the show also presents new works by the artist, including a glass work, ‘Metamorphosis and Transformation’ (2011), as well as a new jasperware commission made while in residency at Wedgwood, Stoke-on-Trent, England. To celebrate the exhibition, LOEWE's Creative Director Jonathan Anderson invited guests to the storied estate for an intimate encounter with Odundo's work. #LOEWE

Odundo is part of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize jury, and is known globally for her ceramic pieces that fuse historical and contemporary practices. Exploring themes of identity and intercultural relationships, the exhibition puts Odundo’s distinctive work centre stage within the almost 300-year-old estate. #LOEWE
