screened pan
screened pan
[′skrēnd ′pan] (meteorology)
An evaporation pan the top of which is covered by wire-mesh screening (¼-inch or 6-millimeter mesh); the screening reduces air circulation and insolation, and results in a pan coefficient nearer to unity than that for unscreened pans.
