Trimolecular Reaction
a chemical reaction in which three molecules or atoms participate in the elementary step. The rate of trimolecular reactions in the gaseous phase (or in dilute liquid solution) follows the third-order kinetic equation. (SeeKINETICS, CHEMICAL and ORDER OF REACTION.)
