Tovma Metsopetsi
Flourished early 15th century. Armenian historian.
Tovma Metsopetsi was the author of The History of Tamerlane and His Successors, which covers the period 1386–1440 and describes the wars and invasions of Tamerlane, Shahrukh, and the rulers of the Kara-Koyunlu, as well as the political history of the peoples of Transcaucasia. He also wrote Ishatakaran (Memorial), which describes the removal of the Armenian patriarchal seat from Sis (now Kozan) in Cilicia to Echmiadzin (now Vagarsha-pat). The work also includes a detailed account of church history in the 14th and 15th centuries.
