a city in Great Britain, in the county of Hertfordshire, 50 km north of London. Population, 71,900 (1973). Industrial enterprises in Stevenage specialize in the production of equipment used in radio electronics, as well as aircraft, instruments, office equipment, and hoisting and conveying machines.
