Rugieri

(also Rugii), a Germanic tribe. In the first and second centuries A.D. the Rugieri lived along the Baltic Sea. In the fifth century they settled along the middle Danube. In 487–488 they were routed by Odoacer. Part of the Rugieri, along with the Ostrogoths, then moved south into Italy. There are no references to the Rugieri after the sixth century.
