Delta Heritage Trail State Park


Location:Between Lexa (6 miles west of Helena) and Cypress Bend (5 miles northeast of McGehee) in southeastern Arkansas.
Facilities:Trail (the first 4 miles of the 73-mile trail have been completed, from Helena junction to Barton, with trailheads at both Helena junction and Walnut Corner).
Activities:Hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:A rails-to-trails conversion of a former Union Pacific railroad route, the Delta Heritage Trail is being developed in phases and will traverse some of the most remote and scenic areas in the Mississippi Delta region of Arkansas.
