Chadyr-Lunga

 

a city since 1958 and the administrative center of Chadyr-Lunga Raion, Moldavian SSR. Situated on the Lunga River, Chadyr-Lunga has a railroad station on the Bessarabskaia-Reni line. Industry includes an electrothermal-equipment plant, a tobacco-curing plant, the Soiuzzhivmash Experimental Plant, a meat-packing plant, a winery, and a rug-making factory. A museum of local lore and history is located in Chadyr-Lunga.
