Can you take a look at caress. I tidied up the etymology, but I am not sure if the link for kama on the sanskrit portion is correct. Thanks

- Hi Nathan,
- Thanks for checking!
- Your edit was mostly fine – linking to diacritic-free form, using
{{rfscript}}
, correct formatting and wording. Two issues though:- The biggest problem was that Etymology comes before Pronunciation – see WT:ELE. Etymology comes before all headings except “Alternative Forms”. Please take a moment to check ELE if you haven’t yet – it breaks various tools and irks people if it isn’t followed, and I still check it if I’m not sure, esp. order of headings.
- The other issue is forgetting the “script” argument to the template, as in
{{rfscript|Devanagari}}
– this yielding the (presumably funny-looking):
- [[Category:Entries which need {{{1}}} script]]
- (the {{{1}}} is the internal way of referring to the argument).
- Also, you may have noticed that “kāma” looked funny in
{{term}}
– this is because Sanskrit words are presumed to be in Devanagari, hence formatted differently. Some people choose to not link if they don’t know the script, just putting the transliteration intr=
, and there are ways to fix the formatting, but it’s acceptable as is. - Anyway, there happens to be a ’pedia page on kama, so I was able to copy-paste the correct script, so it should be fine as of this edit.
- So basically fine – just make sure “Etymology” is before “Pronunciation” and use “Devanagari” and you should be fine. Happy edits!
