[edit]Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish قلاق (qulaq, “ear”), from Proto-Turkic *kulkak (“ear”). Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰸𐰆𐰞𐰴𐰴 (qulqaq), Azerbaijani qulaq, Bashkir ҡолаҡ (qolaq), Chuvash хӑлха (hălh̬a), Kazakh құлақ (qūlaq), Kyrgyz кулак (kulak), Turkmen gulak, Uyghur قۇلاق (qulaq), Uzbek quloq and Yakut кулгаах (kulgaaq).
