The sweet vision of the Holy Grail
Drove me from all vainglories, rivalries,
And earthly heats that spring and sparkle out
Among us in the jousts, while women watch
Who wins, who falls; and waste the spiritual strength
Within us, better offered up to Heaven.
~ Alfred Tennyson ~
in The Holy Grail (1842)
The Holy Thing is here again
Among us, brother, fast thou too and pray,
And tell thy brother knights to fast and pray,
That so perchance the vision may be seen
By thee and those, and all the world be healed.
~ Alfred Tennyson ~
in The Holy Grail (1842)
Sir Galahad, the best of Arthour's Knights,
Who should achieve the quest of the Sangrael
Which only they shall see whose lives are pure.

~ Thomas De Beverley ~

The Birth Of Sir Galahad (1925)

Peace

[edit]
Any time any of us reaches out, any time we pour even a drop of love, compassion, simple human decency (no matter how small; how seemingly insignificant) into the sea of earthly existence — we are, each and every one of us — the being called Mercy. ~ "Joshua Rose" in Mercy by J. M. DeMatteis
We're trying to sell peace, like a product, you know, and sell it like people sell soap or soft drinks. And it's the only way to get people aware that peace is possible, and it isn't just inevitable to have violence. Not just war — all forms of violence. ~ John Lennon
We would not dream of telling you lies, sir, and we are grateful for all your kindness to us, really we are, but if we told you the truth you wouldn't believe it. ~ "Peter" in The Ship that Flew by Hilda Lewis

Love

[edit]
I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?" ~ George Bernard Shaw
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. ~ eden ahbez
Where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other. ~ Carl Jung
In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. ~ Brad Bird
As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity,
I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?
And each time I feel like this inside,
There's one thing I wanna know:
What's so funny 'bout Peace, Love, & Understanding?
~ Nick Lowe
It is not because angels are holier than men or devils that makes them angels, but because they do not expect holiness from one another, but from God alone. ~ William Blake

Truth

[edit]
The ghosts are walking by my side
I feel their love I feel their pride
For I have built a bridge or two
Bridges between me and you
Hello I love you. ~ Roger Waters in The Last Mimzy
A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both. ~ L. P. Jacks
It is a mad world and it will get madder if we allow the minorities, be they dwarf or giant, orangutan or dolphin, nuclear-head or water-conversationalist, pro-computerologist or Neo-Luddite, simpleton or sage, to interfere with aesthetics. The real world is the playing ground for each and every group, to make or unmake laws. But the tip of the nose of my book or stories or poems is where their rights end and my territorial imperatives begin, run and rule. ~ Ray Bradbury in his "Coda 1979" to Fahrenheit 451

in response

[edit]

Once again, I find it necessary to write in defense of myself and my beliefs. Let's get down to brass tacks: I call upon Galahad to stop his oppression, lies, immorality, and debauchery. I call upon him to be a man of manners, principles, honour, and purity. And finally, I call upon him to forgo his desire to have a serious destabilizing effect on our institutions.

I can reword my point as follows. Mysticism has never been successful in the long run. I would be grateful if Galahad would take a little time from his rigorous schedule to expose some of his blockish deeds. Of course, pigs will grow wings and fly before that ever happens.

Galahad's goals manifest themselves in two phases. Phase one: overthrow the government and eliminate the money system. Phase two: desecrate religious objects. The following theorem may therefore be established as an eternally valid truth: Galahad's wheelings and dealings are based on hate. Hate, militarism, and an intolerance of another viewpoint, another way of life.

By and large, by refusing to act, by refusing to fight on the battleground of ideas for our inalienable individual rights, we are giving Galahad the power to slow scientific progress. We need to deal with him appropriately. Why? Because of what's at stake: literally everything. One might think that Galahad's perorations provide a vivid example of how once you cut through the bravado, misconceptions, and ignorance, you'll find that Galahad's historical record of larcenous strictures is clearer than the muddled pronouncements of his confreres, and this is, not surprisingly, the case. Galahad claims that a plausible excuse is a satisfactory substitute for performance. Predictably, he cites no hard data for that claim. This is because no such data exist.

Galahad has long wanted to prevent anyone from stating publicly that with his Ponzi schemes, simple credos like "check your sources" and "argue the other side of the question" have gone out the window. Why do I bring that up? Because by studying his repression of ideas in its extreme, unambiguous form one may more clearly understand why Galahad claims that embracing a system of voyeurism will make everything right with the world. I respond that his causeries are the direct result of a policy of abandonment and neglect. To end this letter, I, for one, would like to make a bet with Galahad. I will gladly give him a day's salary if he can prove that my bitterness at him is merely the latent projection of libidinal energy stemming from self-induced anguish, as he insists. If Galahad is unable to prove that, then his end of the bargain is to step aside while I celebrate knowledge and truth for the sake of knowledge and truth. So, do we have a bet, Galahad? LOL. But enough of such nonsense — you are obviously intent on merely being disruptive troll-vandal, posting largely irrelevant and irrational musings into articles, and disrupting editors. Please stop and find something actually helpful to do with your time and your life. — Galahad 16:44, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request for usurpation

[edit]

Hello, Galahad (usurped). A request has been made via SRUC (metawiki) to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one) or use Special:GlobalRenameRequest.

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time, White Master (talk) 06:43, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
