- Let the sweet hope that Thou art mine,
My life and death attend;
Thy presence through my journey shine,
And crown my journey's end.- Reported in Josiah Hotchkiss Gilbert, Dictionary of Burning Words of Brilliant Writers (1895), p. 328. "The Grace of God". Adopted as a hymn by several protestant denominations, sometimes under a different title. Probably first published pseudonymously as " Theodosia" in Poems on Subjects Chiefly Devotional (1760).

Our humble thanks to Thee,
May every heart with rapture say,—
