Module methods- using an OSM Location map
[edit]Easy method
| module = {{OSM Location map | float = centre | width = 250 | coord = {{coord}} <!-- Map centred --> | mark-coord = {{coord}} <!-- Marking the school--> | label = Hundred of Hoo Academy | label-pos = bottom <!-- top, bottom, right or left --> | zoom = 12 <!-- usually 10, 11 or 12--> }}
Long method
| module = {{OSM Location map | float = centre | width = 250 | coord = {{coord|51.41872|0.53518}} <!-- Centred --> | mark-coord = {{coord|51.42172|0.55018}} | label = Hundred of Hoo Academy | label-pos = bottom | zoom = 12}} <!-- marking the school-->
Multiple sites
| module ={{OSM Location map | float = right | width = 250 | coord = {{coord|51.3805|0.5174}} <!-- Centred --> | mark-coord = {{coord|51.3775|0.5174}} | label = St John Fisher Catholic School| labela = Upper School| label-pos = bottom | mark-coord1 = {{coord|51.372559| 0.521114}} | label1 = Lower School| label-pos1 = right | zoom = 13}} <!-- marking the school-->
Each mark has a mark-coord and can have a label. Normally we use the default.
- Each label has properties: label-pos,, label-size, label-color, label-angle, label-offset-x and label offset-y.
- Multi-line labels use label=,labela= and labelb=, for the three lines of text.
Captions, minimaps, links and hovers

Overlay methods
[edit]Syntax needed to draw an overlay on a map
{{OSM Location map <!-- Set up the map frame- its size and centre--> | float = centre | height= 260 | width = 450 | coord = {{coord|51.5266| -0.1824}} | zoom = 14 <!-- usually 10, 12 or 14--> <!-- do the first mark with an imported svg- this one is 2.20X wider than high--> | mark = Little Venice overlay.svg | mark-coord = {{coord|51.5254| -0.1824}} <!-- lat and lon location for the overlay --> | mark-size = 300 <!--here height of the overlay--> | mark-dim = 2.20 <!--dimension (scale factor) to set width needed as svg is not a square--> | mark-title=none <!--no marker within the full screen version--> <!--Adding a labelled marker--> | mark-coord1 = {{coord|51.5254| -0.1824}} | label1 = Little Venice | label-pos1 = bottom <!-- top, bottom, right or left --> }}
Parameter changes needed at different zoom-
{{OSM Location map | float = right | height= 150 <!-- Change the map-size --> | width = 220 | coord = {{coord|51.5266| -0.1824}} | zoom = 13 <!-- Main change of zoom level--> <!-- do the first mark with an imported svg--> | mark = Little Venice overlay.svg | mark-coord = {{coord|51.5254| -0.1824}} | mark-size = 150 <!--must match zoom level- guess value--> | mark-dim = 2.20 <!--dimension (scale factor) stays the same--> | mark-title=none <!--Thats it--> | mark-coord1 = {{coord|51.5254| -0.1824}} | label1 = Little Venice | label-pos1 = bottom }}
And suitable for an info box.
The overlay .svg is done by importing a .png of the desired map into Inkscape, and plotting the boundary on a separate layer.To save, erase the png layer, select image and resize canvas to image, save (it defaults to svg) and upload to Commons.Table

Schools related
[edit]- Academics
Virtually all maintained schools and academies follow the National Curriculum, and are inspected by Ofsted on how well they succeed in delivering a 'broad and balanced curriculum'.[2] Schools endeavour to get all students to achieve the English Baccalaureate(EBACC) qualification- this must include core subjects a modern or ancient foreign language, and either History or Geography.
The school operates a three-year, Key Stage 3 where all the core National Curriculum subjects are taught. Year 7 is mainly taught in mixed ability tutor group set. In Year 8 and 9, Art, Drama, IT, Religious Studies and Music are taught in mixed ability groups. English, Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology, Geography, History, Modern Foreign Languages and PE are set by ability.[3]
There is no recommendation on whether Key Stage 3 should occupy three or two years, Ofsted have expressed the opinion that it is not possible teach the full curriculum in two years. [4] Cannot be outstanding.[5]
In 10 and 11, that is in Key Stage 4 students study a core of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, IT, Core PE , PSHE (Sex and Relationship Education with Enterprise Education)) and Religious Education Most students do a Modern Foreign Language. Students have three options chosen from three pools, each of which contain History and Geography,allowing a English Baccalaureate. Some students are offered a more vocational route. These students study a slightly reduced number of GCSEs.[3]

[edit]Ofsted
[edit]Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. It reports directly to Parliament and is both independent and impartial. By law it must inspect schools with the aim of providing information to parents, to promote improvement and to hold schools to account.
Ofsted ensures that organisations in England providing education, training (and care services) do so to a high standard for children and students.
ISI The Independent Schools Inspectorate is a body approved for the purpose of inspection under the Education Act 2002. Its role is to report to the Department for Education on the extent to which schools meet statutory requirements. ISI is responsible for the inspection of private schools which are members of the Associations of the Independent Schools Council or ISC. [6]

Deletion Rebuffs
[edit]- Reply : WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES explicitly states that it should not be used in deletion discussions. WP:ORG explicitly states that it should not be used for Non-profit schools.WP:NSCHOOL and WP:ORG are two links to the same page.
- Reply : There is nothing in the WP:NSCHOOL and WP:ORG that says that a school has to be more notable than any other. Wikipedia uses the word notable to refer the quality of its reference not in the way it is used in conversation- it doesn't have to be famous, or have notoriety. Following each of those guidelines (which are shortcuts to the same document), you are taken to WP:GNG which says "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list".ClemRutter (talk) 17:05, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Reply :basically every UK secondary school has sufficient material on it to fulfill WP evidence of notability. The structure of the UK government and funding systems ensure that. No school is a government school- they never have been, but over the years different ways of funding schools have evolved. With a handful of exceptions, all schools are registered with the Department of Education, and subjected to inspection. The inspection reports are detailed and published WP:GNG. It is independent of the school is conducted by Ofsted, ISI or [[ ]]. ClemRutter (talk) 16:42, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Keep. Ofsted reports are independent and reliable and contain significant prose coverage of their subjects - far from "database entries". I don't know where the nominator is getting the idea from that they don't count because they are government mandated. The fact that they are government mandated simply leads to all schools subject to such reports being notable. And the idea that being nice and normal means non-notability would only be relevant if this was the Guinness Book of Records rather than an encyclopedia. Phil Bridger (talk) 20:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Keep. Available sources sufficient to establish notability, as with any other British secondary school. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:37, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Keep. Primary schools are kept, when they have another form of notability such as Grade II Listed building status.
Notes
[edit]"Learning represents a change in long term memory. Teaching is therefore understood as the active pedagogy that brings about that change."[7]
The academy challenges the concept of an imposed curriculum citing Dylan William's education research. [8]

[edit]An enthusiastic user of Wikipedia, his first edit was in November 2003, and he then rewrote the page on the computer language Logo. His first new page was Rochester Castle and then he has contributed to pages on Rochester in Kent, places around Manchester, Glossop and Stockport.
He rewrote the Naturism, Chimney sweeps, and Sundials pages . However the first real obsession was Cotton and thousands of textile mills that bracketed and defined the lives of generations in the North West- paid for at least two empires, and drove all worthwhile Mech. Eng. advances.
A recent concern has been Public housing in the United Kingdom and the dearth of POV free articles on working class life. An interesting topic is the Thames sailing barge- its history and construction.
He has worked with templates, and svg diagrams using Inkscape.
- Schema for horizontal dials — pen and ruler constructions
- Schema for vertical declining dials — pen and ruler constructions
And then there was schools.. all of those in GB. Destubbing, correcting maps, uploading fair use logos and above all describing how and what they teach to whom, in a way a reader ouside the islands may understand. Schools are rebuilt, refactored, reinspected and change behind the scenes at a breathtaking rate and sail on like the Marie Celeste or ignite like HMS Bulwark.
