Brain James McManus[4][5], is an Irish[5] YouTuber that is most well-known for creating well-researched educational entertainment videos about engineering and technology. He publishes videos on topics such as planes, renewable energy, and military technology. His goal is to "inspire the next generation of engineers".[6]
He is also the founder, writer, and narrator of the Real Engineering Youtube channel.
Career
[edit]He started studying biomedical engineering, but was rejected, then went back to college to get a masters. He decided to study composite materials, as it was growing industry at the time, doing aeronautical engineering as well.[4]
After his Masters, he worked at an Oil & Gas industry in Malaysia[4], where he stated he despised the industry as a whole.[4]
In an interview in 2019, he stated that he had gained inspiration from Smarter Every Day,[4] which quote, "reignited his passion". Brian was also inspried by David Attenborough, his stated hero.[4]
