JANJAY10 (talk) 04:11, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@JANJAY10 Please do not do any more editing until we speak, per the concerns raised by other editors who pinged you earlier this week. FULBERT (talk) 00:50, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will wait for your instructions. Thank you! JANJAY10 (talk) 03:29, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JANJAY10 Many parts of your writing feel like they were developed using Al, with the direct output here not being your own work. Per our course AI Policy, while AI tools can provide valuable assistance, it is crucial for students to understand that the final output and submission must be their own writing. While AI may be helpful for ideation, you must critically evaluate the suggestions provided by AI tools and make informed decisions about incorporating the ideas, and not the direct words, into your own work. Always contextualize your work to reflect your own understanding of the credible and reliable source you cite to support your statements. Please review the Wikipedia guidance at WP:LLM, WP:NOR, WP:NPOV, and WP:PROOF. Then, please either re-edit the Wikipedia article you edited with information in your own words while using a high-quality citation to a source you have read, as we discussed when we spoke about this. Week 4/Nyn218

[edit]

Summary of the Article Citation Added: The citation from The Economist (2014) supports details about The Tale of the Princess Kaguya’s unique visual style, describing how the film uses a storybook-like watercolor palette and expressive, sketchy lines. This artistic approach reflects the film's emotional depth and departs from typical computer-generated animation, emphasizing Studio Ghibli’s commitment to hand-drawn artistry.

Link to the Diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Studio_Ghibli&diff=prev&oldid=1256422371.

Reflection on the Learning Process: This editing process taught me the importance of thorough, reliable sourcing on Wikipedia to enhance article accuracy and depth. Adding a citation from The Economist for The Tale of the Princess Kaguya not only validated the content but also introduced readers to the nuanced visual style of the film. I discovered that even small details, like properly formatted citations, can improve the article's credibility and make complex topics more accessible to a wider audience.

Summary of the Article Citation Added:The cited article discusses the integration of AI-based digital assistants in workplaces to handle routine tasks, enhancing productivity by automating administrative duties like scheduling, reminders, and processing orders. It highlights the efficiency benefits these tools bring to workflows while addressing challenges around data privacy, accuracy, and readiness for full organizational adoption.

Link to the Diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1256428806

Reflection on the Learning Process: Through this edit, I learned the importance of balancing AI’s potential benefits with its challenges, especially in professional settings where privacy and accuracy are critical. Understanding how to frame AI advancements in a practical, contextually relevant way also reinforced the value of clear and concise explanations when discussing technology's role in workplaces. Nyn218 (talk) 22:29, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Nyn218 Please review the reworking of your first edit here by another editor, likely related to concerns with AI-generated text. Please reply about how you understand the respone here, and then ping me and I will review. You do not need to change what you edited within the articles at this time. FULBERT (talk) 18:36, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve reviewed the changes made by TechnoSquirrel69, who revised my contribution to better align with Wikipedia’s standards for neutrality and originality. It appears they removed language that might be interpreted as promotional, to ensure the content remains unbiased and accurate. Additionally, they addressed close paraphrasing to maintain a distinct structure and phrasing, which I understand is essential for upholding Wikipedia’s standards of originality. This revision highlights the importance of neutral, objective language, and I’ll apply these insights to enhance the quality of my future contributions. I edited the article Supply chain risk management. Here is the diff. I added one paragraph about the predictive analytics of supply chain risk. Artificial intelligence models can analyze real-time and historical data to identify potential supply chain risks as early as possible. Also, I learn more about the supply chain risk management from that article.

I also edited the article ERP security. Here is the diff. I added one paragraph about the Security measures required for ERP systems. ERP systems require security mechanisms to protect against some security issues, such as data leakage, system vulnerabilities. Also, I learn more about the vulnerabilities in ERP system and causes of ERP system vulnerabilities. Thank you. BJ2352 (talk) 22:43, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Week 5/ Myeon

[edit]

Here is the first article I edit: Remote work, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remote_work&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remote_work&diff=prev&oldid=1257203787. I add a new aspect about the benefit of work remote. It is under the topic: Higher employee motivation and job satisfaction due to autonomy and flexibility, but the part I added more focus on the benefit of choosing work places flexibly.

And the second article I edit is: Human resource management, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Human_resource_management&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Human_resource_management&diff=prev&oldid=1257208890. Base on the information I learned from a reference of HR 4.0, I added something about talent management and performance management. Make the information about virtual management more comprehensive.

Through the work during this week, and learning from the lessons of previous feedback, I realized that editing articles requires more patience and care, carefully reviewing content and reducing or even circumventing the use of AI. That will be more difficult, but learn more knowledge as well.

MyeonD (talk) 20:26, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MyeonD Both of these edits are fine, but please make future edits shorter and without any language that would show your point of view or beliefs. Current with Week 5. FULBERT (talk) 10:31, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Week 4/Myeon

[edit]

For the edits of week 4, I re-chose two articles. The first one is Artificial intelligence in mental health,https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Artificial_intelligence_in_mental_health&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the differences, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Artificial_intelligence_in_mental_health&diff=prev&oldid=1257412803. The second one is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Information_privacy&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the differences, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Information_privacy&diff=prev&oldid=1257425596.

From this week, I learned the importance of generate information without the help of AI.

@MyeonD The term is Diff, not difference. Your edits are both fine, so current with Week 4. FULBERT (talk) 10:35, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bonus Week/Sp7930

[edit]

For this week, add citations to two articles. The first article I chose to edit is Change Management and here is the diff. In this article, I added a citation to define what PDCA Cycle entails. I learned that The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, also known as the Deming Cycle, is a structured method for implementing and testing changes. It emphasizes small-scale testing to minimize risks and identify issues early, fostering continuous improvement by addressing root causes through data-driven evaluation.

The second article I chose to edit is Time Management and here is the diff. The citation effectively emphasizes the Four Ds of time management—Do, Defer, Delegate, and Delete, as essential strategies for prioritizing and managing tasks efficiently. It succinctly conveys their significance in enhancing productivity and focus within organizational settings. Sp7930 (talk) 18:59, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sp7930 Your first edit was fine but there is a problem with the citation you added in the second. Edit that one with a doi and ping me here and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 18:50, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @FULBERT,
I attempted to find the DOI, but unfortunately, I couldn't locate it. However, I found this article through ProQuest, and it was published in a well-known journal: International Journal of Information, Business and Management, Vol. 16, No. 3, 2024. The article has the ISSN 2076-9202. I'm providing you with the link for verification: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/357876537_Time_Management_Skills_Essential_in_implementing_all_Job_Duties_on_Time Sp7930 (talk) 16:32, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sp7930 This appears to be a privately written, but unpublished article, and as a result it would not meet credibility standards. See if you can find another source that is credible (i.e., published as a journal article, in this case) that supports your statements you added. Ping me here when done. FULBERT (talk) 13:42, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bounus Week/Roger0731

[edit]

The first article I edited was Artificial intelligence in healthcare. Here is the diff. The theme of the citation I added is to talk about the progress that artificial intelligence can make in pediatric dentistry, thereby helping dentists and patients to improve each other's experience.

The second article I edited was AI in education. Here is the diff. This article clarifies teachers' trust in AI-EdTech and proposes effective professional development strategies to improve teachers' trust and willingness to use AI-EdTech in the classroom.

From these two articles, I learned that AI is gradually affecting the overall development of society. Whether in education, medical care or other aspects, it is gradually integrating into this society and becoming an indispensable part.Roger0731 (talk) 02:54, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Roger0731 Many parts of your writing feel like they were developed using Al, with the direct output here not being your own work. This week, I updated the Wikipedia article on business valuation with an original image called Simplified Business Valuation Illustration. To improve the article's clarity, the image graphically depicts important ideas like negotiations, financial growth, and balance scales. Here is the diff link.

I gained knowledge about copyright compliance and how to add valuable images to articles thanks to this assignment. Week 7/Myeon

[edit]

This week, I still chose to edit two more articles instead of insert a picture. The first article is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Superfood&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the diff,https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Superfood&diff=prev&oldid=1261423660. I add some words demonstrating the misunderstanding of superfoods. And the second one is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Passion_fruit_%28fruit%29&wvprov=sticky-header, and here is the diff, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Passion_fruit_(fruit)&diff=prev&oldid=1261424830. I add a new use of passion fruit, which is about superfoods industry.

With these weeks' practices, I became proficient at editing articles on Wikipedia and developed a rich interest in it, with plans to continue editing after the course was completed.

Week 7/JANJAY10

[edit]

I uploaded an image. Here is the diff [5]. I learned how to create and upload my own image that meet wikimeadia standard. The image is about livestock farming. This was helpful!

I found the Wikipedia extra credit project very interesting and full of information. The opportunity to contribute to the global knowledge base was indeed very unique. I was excited and a bit nervous about becoming a Wikipedia editor. The learning curve for following the laws and writing accurate articles was steep. However, the insights gained from content development and verification are worthwhile.

This project taught me to adhere to Wikipedia's neutrality, verifiability, and no-original research policies. Learning how Wikipedia pushes authors to collaborate with other editors and provide constructive criticism was interesting. I knew how to edit Wikipedia, reference, and track activities. That just proved that all the small contributions increase the credibility of a resource. It also gave me a deeper understanding of collaboration in knowledge and how community-driven knowledge benefits public education.

Wikipedia editing will continue, although infrequently. This event underscored the value of small efforts in enhancing consumer information quality. Joining a global campaign for better information access and accuracy is essential. Wikipedia's high standards require considerable time and effort to update. I don't plan to edit often, but I will share my experience or findings when I can.

@MyeonD Wikipedia is an encyclopedia WP:ENC, and as such it is important to maintain a neutral point of view WP:NPOV that avoids jargon, opinions, exaggerations, and any claims that are not represented fairly and proportionately.
