The Menu of the Day, or "El Menú del día" is a menu served by restaurants during lunch, one of the largest meals of the day in Spain. It is known for being economical and large. Spanish people will typically eat five meals a day, the comida midday meal being the largest when the Menu of the Day is served. Spanish restaurants will serve The Menu of the Day typically between 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. This is a cheap, economic meal, typically with good food. [1]

Amount of Food

You can get a lot of food if you order from the Menu of the Day. You will start with a Primer Plato, or "first plate". Then comes the segundo plato, or "second plate". Finally, you finish everything off with a postre, or dessert. This is three plates! [2]

Pricing

The Menu of the Day is typically a large meal, with a good price considering the amount of food. Most likely, you will only be charged around 8 to 14 euros. [3]

Type of Food

Anything can be on the Menu of the Day, but, as the name implies, the food will change every day. The type of food will likely change with what is available and with the seasons. [4]
