Tizway
Tizway (foaled on February 17, 2005 ) is a retired American racehorse and the son of the legendary Tiznow. He is a 3 time graded stakes winner ( Kelso handicap, the Whitney handicap and Metropolitan handicap) and a 2 time G1 winner. He has defeated G1 winners such as Jockey cup gold cup winner Haynesfield, and 2 time Jockey cup gold cup winner and cigar mile champ Flat Out,Clark and Donn handicap winner Giant oak,Hollywood gold cup winner Rail Trip.
2 year old season
As a 2 year old, Tizway's debut came in a 2 year old maiden special weight at Aqueduct race course. He came in 6th place.
He did not race again till he was a three year old.
3 year old season
His 2 and 3 year old seasons, Tizway did not run in any stakes races let alone win any. His first 4 races he lost. Out of all of them his best finesh was a third. But on the 5th try Tizway successfully won his first race. He never raced again as a three year old.
4 year old season
After 10 months of rest, Tizway came in 2nd in his return before winning his 2nd race, an allowance. He ran in the Whitney for the first time. This was also the first time Tizway ran in a stakes race. He ended up in 4th. He also was 3rd in the Jockey club gold cup. In his last race as a 4 year old, Tizway was entered in the Japan cup dirt. He finished 12th.
5 year old season
As a 5 year old, Tizway made one of his best seasons yet. He returned with a win in an allowance race before a 3rd in the Metropolitan handicap. He followed up with his first ever graded stakes victory in the Kelso handicap; before ending the season with a 5th in the Breeders cup dirt mile.
6 year old season
Tizway brought the best in himself in his 6 year old (and final) season. He started off with 2 thirds in the Gulfstream park handicap and Charles Town stakes. But the best in himself came in his next 2 starts. It started with a victory in Metropolitan handicap, before having to face multiple G1 winners in the Whitney. The Whitney would be his last race. At the beginning of the race, Tizway bolted out of the gate and went to the lead, but he let other contenders, Friend or Foe and Morning Line set the pace.When they hit the far turn, Tizway had taken the lead and held off Flat Out to win the Whitney by 3 lengths.
