Just checking in
You haven't edited in two days. Let me know if you still want to do this. Serendipodous 17:02, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- are you planning to do the top 25? Serendipodous 15:03, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Serendipodous: I've been looking at the exclusion patterns, and I want to take some more time to study them. What can you tell me about articles like Overview effect which get almost entirely mobile views, according to the current WP:TOP5000? Because it was transient, [63] I think it should be ignored. I am not planning to comment on 11-15. EllenCT (talk) 16:02, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- We don't have a lot of info about the all-mobile views, but one in particular, Angelsberg, was due to a bot basically load-testing the mobile Wiki servers. Others are probably spyware botnets checking for internet traffic. Basically, if it gets almost all mobile views, or almost none, you can bet it ain't human doing it. Serendipodous 16:08, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- The Top 25 still hasn't been published. It's less than 48 hours until the raw data gets updated. If you're having problems or do not wish to publish the report, let me know so I can do it. Serendipodous 14:21, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Serendipodous: I don't want to comment on items 11 through 25. I don't see how it serves the readers. I'm disappointed in the exclusion list properties I'm seeing and would prefer to comment on the most edited articles instead of the most popular articles, in general. EllenCT (talk) 14:25, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- I wish you'd been clearer earlier; you said "11-15" in your last post. As for exclusions, we've always made it clear that we exclude abnormally low or abnormally high mobile counts. We've been editing this report for years and are pretty solid on the patterns that indicate a false result. If you feel that our research isn't enough, you're free to conduct your own. As to whether it helps the readers or not, well the readers seem to think so; the 25 report gets thousands of views a month. Serendipodous 14:57, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Please be aware of the sanctions
Please read this notification carefully:
A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to electronic cigarettes.
The details of these sanctions are described here.
General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.
This message is informational only and does not imply misconduct regarding your contributions to date.

Edit warring on electronic cigarette talk page?
Your recent editing history at Talk:Electronic cigarette shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war.[76][77] To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
