Can God Create a Stone that He Cannot Lift?
This question is more than 800 years old. In asking this question, the questioner had already assumed the existence of gravity because of the word “lift” in the question. What is “lift”? My definition for “lift” is: Moving an object to the opposite direction of gravity. By definition, God created everything. Hence, God created gravity. Since God can create gravity, he can certainly make it disappear. So God can “lift” any stone. Put another way, this question could become: if God were to have an arm wrestling match between his left arm (gravity)and right arm (to “lift” the stone), which one would win? Both arms belong to God. This is not a contest; there is no winning or losing. Therefore this is a stupid question.
If God is omnipotent, God must be everything, everything must be God. Since "Outside everything" is an oxymoron, therefore “Outside God” is an oxymoron: if there is God, then there will be no “outside”; if there is an “outside”, then there will be no God. There is no gravity “outside” God. God doesn’t live in a gravitational field. For an omnipotent God, there is no such concept as “lift”. “Lift” only exists in human experience. Gravity, like everything else, exists inside God. For an omnipotent God, there is no such concept as “stand” either, because there is no ground “outside” God. By the same token, for an omnipotent God, there are no such concepts as “breathe”,“eat”,“drink”,“excrete”, “wear clothes”, “walk”,“sit”, “lie down”. God doesn't have a body. All bodies have skin, skin is the boundary of the body. God doesn't have boundary. Therefore, God doesn't have a face, nor shape. An ant looks at you while you are talking, it could see your lips and tongue moving. The ant asks you: “How do you lift your lips and tongue?” You reply: “It’s a stupid question.” A man sees that the Moon is moving, he asks God: “How do you lift the Moon?” God says: “It’s a stupid question.” —Teng Wang, Social Phenomena
Let's just say; it's something beyond our comprehension Classical josh (talk) 23:00, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
== "The presence of all these properties in a single entity has given rise to considerable theological debate, prominently including the problem of theodicy, the question of why such a deity would permit the manifestation of evil. It is accepted in philosophy and science that omnipotence can never be effectively understood."
There is no "good" or "evil". This is an universal truth, so please delete above quoted section. Thanks! If you ignore, modify, or delete this, allmighty Karma could act as a deadly monster. I know that, because I'm omnipotent. That's the truth. Amen!
Read bhagavad gita to know that And let me tell ya Krishna told lies and he is omnipotent basically you can fully understand what omnipotence is and the paradoxes Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 15:33, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
Though bhagavad gita essentially Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 15:34, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
Also the definition of omnipotence is all powerful or having limitless power that surpasses every being in the multiverse being able to do anything definition is misconception made by atheists to claim that a deity with True Omnipotence can't exist Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 15:40, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
Being able to do anything is now called metapotence which can't be found in scriptures only in fictional stuff Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 15:42, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Absolute_Transcendence you will understand from this what is the perfect example of being above everything Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 15:45, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
omnipotence
You say “If the number of universes is unlimited, then the power of a certain god-like entity is also unlimited, since the laws of physics may be different in other universes, and accordingly making this entity omnipotent”
How would unlimited universes give a certain God like entity unlimited power? David147147 (talk) 06:24, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
