Improving without copy-pasting

[edit]

The article needs attention. It sometimes give the feeling that it needs an advertisement tag. Editors are generally more interested in the past of the university, what about the present? Some new sections are added e.g., Student halls of residence, I don't feel it is necessary (again this is copy pasted from http://www.caluniv.ac.in/) --Sobarwiki তুিহন 17:26, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A Serious Omission

[edit]

Stella Kramrisch deserves mention in this article. The Wiki article on her says that after a two year stint at Santiniketan she was a professor at Calcutta Univ in 1924-1950 - a longer tenure perhaps than the five Nobel laureates that are named here. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1982. Her fabulous book on The Art of India is a prized reference book for me. 98.115.109.82 (talk) 23:15, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Order of Notable people associated with the University of Calcutta

[edit]

Is there a particular criteria for the order of Notable people associated with the University of Calcutta? It seems that the India's first female physician would be internationally more notable than a cricket captain & therefore should be listed sooner. You haven't said what you think is wrong with the coordinates in the article, but I've adjusted them slightly. If you still think that there is an error, you'll need to supply a clear explanation of what it is. Deor (talk) 22:38, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't said what you think is wrong with the coordinates in the article, and they appear to be correct (for the Central Campus, at least). If you still think that there is an error, you'll need to supply a clear explanation of what it is. Deor (talk) 13:12, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
