"Pseudo-astronomy?"

[edit]

Not a good term, and it is apparently full of contempt — the proper term is astrology, which was part of the general world view of antiquity. That it was essentially debunked by psychologists in 1990 and is generally viewed with disdain since say the enlightenment from 1600 is anachronistic. Christian negativity against astrology/mathematics is based on theology, and it wasn't called 'pseudo-astronomy' by the Christian theologers (such as Augustine of Hippo). Rursus dixit. Exile and references

[edit]

The accounts of his persecution on the main page are only supported by rather old references. The persecution has been called into question and may have been manufactured by Eusebius.
