On 22 February, 2024 a massive fire broke out in a residential 14-storey residential building in Valencia, Spain, leaving at least 4 dead, 19 missing and 14 others injured.[2][3][4][5]
Event
At around 17:30 local time firefighters were called to a fire at a residential building. As a result of the materials inside the building, the building was quickly engulfed in flames, spreading throughout the whole building in just 10 minutes. As a result of the fire, four people died and at least 14 others were injured.
Valencia Mayor María José Catalá declared 3 days of official mourning because of the fire. A number of events, including the first day of the Valencia Fallas, were canceled as a result.[6]
