Stalking

Please explain how you reached [1] here to revert my edit? Venkat TL (talk) 11:02, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Venkat TL: How was I supposed to know it was your edit? My edit summary: rm image per MOS:PERTINENCE. the shrine in question is not visible, just a person sitting in front of it. In File:Arunachalesvara Temple shrine.jpg, all I (or anyone for that matter) can see a person standing with their back towards the camera, a person sitting in front the camera, a doggo resting, and barricaded gate. Kindly elaborate where is the shrine? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:36, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
you have not answered my question. --Venkat TL (talk) 14:39, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL:I opened the photograph on your userpage, and it showed the list of pages using the photograph. No detective work, no digging, no stalking. Now: where is the shrine? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:41, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. And how did you reach Pegasus Project revelations in India?--Venkat TL (talk) 14:46, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL: who are you to ask me these questions? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:50, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
where is the shrine? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:51, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So far today you have only edited 3 articles and this is the second article of the 3. I had recently edited Pegasus Project and both of your 2 edits popped up on my watchlist. So I am asking you, how did you reach Pegasus Project revelations in India?Venkat TL (talk) 15:34, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Abecedare: Hi. I have been actively editing enwiki since Dec 2016. I was taken to ANI only once in my very early days. After that, I reported a few clear not-here cases to ANIs, and sparsely participated in some other discussions there. For a certain period of time, I was one of the most active new page reviewers, and for a period, very active page mover. Yet, I have not been in any disputes. I have always remained calm (excluding the reason for my first ANI trip.) In the recent ANI report, Venkat TL explained only their side of the story, and there are some inaccuracies. When they said I tried to reason with usernamekiran on why he is trying to forcefully close a thread when it was unnecessary and uncalled for., there was no discussion at all. Before that, there was their majestic tone, and gaslighting tactics which annoyed me a little (eg calling me new/inexperienced). They also used redwarn anti-vandalism tool to undo my edits. That tone can be seen again in this discussion as well. They expect me to answer their questions, but they dont want answer mine. All I asked is where is the shrine in the photograph. @Venkat TL: "Pegasus Project revelations in India" is not a hidden or a password protected article. It is a well known topic in India, and it also falls under wikiproject espionage - which is of my interest (can be seen on my userpage). I didn't even know you had edited that article previously. That photo always looked like a product of a photo-op hence I removed it (see the talkpage of uploader on commons). Same goes for the photo of shrine, it has nothing to do with the previous incident. The shrine is not visible in the photo, so I removed it per MOS:PERTINENCE. I had moved on from the incident right after the close by Abecedare. To editor Abecedare: If I had such grudge holding/stalking practice/habits, it would have come to attention of fellow wikipedia editors a long time ago. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:57, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
UsernameKiran, I don't really dispute anything you have written. As I indicated at ANI, I am aware of and respect your contributions (as well as Venkat TL's). And under any other circumstances the image-pertinence issue could be easily hammered out following WP:BRD.
But, under the current circumsances... I think you have hit the nail on the head in that the central issue in the recent dispute is not the content of any talkpage post or article edit, but the perceived tone. As an outside observer, I can see how some of your(plural) initial interactions could be perceived as, say, 'patronizing' even though not intended to be that way. Of course, the exchanges that followed have been intentionally adversarial and sometimes, belittling. Such devolution of discussion is understandable but not not helpful or healthy. Hence my advice to voluntarily disengage and get on with (on or off wiki) activities that are more pleasant. With some time and distance I hope that you both will see what I see: this is just a storm in a teacup and that it will be a pity if 'admin action' is needed over such trifles. Cheers and happy editing. Abecedare (talk) 18:42, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
