Colocao by Nicki Nicole

The song was recently certified 2× Platinum in Argentina and that's why I put the reference, I don't understand why you changed it. AlonsoTav (talk) 23:30, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@AlonsoTav: As the edit summary states, the issue is WP:RS. The source used is the artist's Instagram account, one of the least reliable sources. Also what about WP:BRD? --Muhandes (talk) 12:43, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sir , Hope you are doing fine. Actually I am here as I recently declined a Afc Draft which you have accepted but I dont see the issues that I have raised are met. Can you look into it. Institute of Advanced Research the references are not working. How have you accepted the draft. Kindly forgive me if, I have made any mistake as I am still your junior. Thankyou have a good day. signed, Iflaq (talk) 05:35, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Iflaq: Thanks for reaching back, it is always good to see a junior willing to learn. The short answer is WP:DRAFTOBJECT. For the longer answer, you can see in the page history that the article was not an AfC article at all, it was draftified by mistake by another junior editor. You can see the discussion at the article's talk page and also some discussion here. The bottom line is, an article shouldn't be draftified without discussion if the editor who wrote it is likely to object (as every regular editor probably will). --Muhandes (talk) 08:15, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Christine & The Queens

Hi there, why did you revert my edit in this article?

I'm only starting to contribute to Wiki so might not know all the details. But I added the source. Psfinaki (talk) 16:08, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Psfinaki: In such cases you would want to look at the edit summary. Let me quote it for you: Reverted good faith edits by Psfinaki (talk): WP:SONGCOVER. The first part says that I am not assuming you meant anything disruptive, to the contrary, you made an honest attempt to improve the article. However, the reason is also stated, namely WP:SONGCOVER which states: Only cover versions/renditions important enough to have gained attention in their own right should be added to song articles. In other words, a source showing that a cover version exists is not enough. You need sources to show that the cover version is noteworthy in its own right. I hope this clarify things. Happy editing! --Muhandes (talk) 19:21, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I saw the edit summary but didn't click through the links properly. Rrrright, yeah that policy makes sense if I think of it. Alright, thanks for the clarification! Psfinaki (talk) 08:53, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Psfinaki: No problem. Feel free to drop by if you have any other questions, I'm always happy to assist. Happy editing! --Muhandes (talk) 08:54, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In My Lifetime, Vol. 1

Ok, this is the issue I have. Why can't I use Discogs? People have used it before and its not like Discogs is ever really wrong? And why can't I add executive producers. Executive producers have always been added to album pages. So taking down my citations is foolish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WPUNJ (talkcontribs) 18:10, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WPUNJ: I'm a bit surprised that you ask since I left you all the details at your own talk page, but here goes again. You cannot use discogs because the community has decided that it is not a reliable source, see WP:RSPSS. You cannot add executive producers because the community has decided that this field should not include them, see WP:NOEXEC. These rules represent the WP:CONSENSUS, so we follow them, it's as simple as that. --Muhandes (talk) 18:37, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No Way Out

Then explain why there are still albums that lists executive producers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by WPUNJ (talkcontribs) 20:25, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WPUNJ: Please review the talk page guidelines. There is no need to start a new section every time you answer, answers should be indented to the right, Also, you need to sign your messages.
As for the answer to your question, I think it is quite obvious: another editor was not aware of these guidelines and made an error. You, on the other hand, are now fully aware of these guidelines, so you will obviously correct this error whenever you see it. --Muhandes (talk) 21:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

mistake! thanks ---- — Preceding unsigned comment added by JCJC777 (talkcontribs) 17:11, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@JCJC777: No problem, but there was no need to break the discussion between two talk pages. If I left you a message on your talk page, I am watching it. --Muhandes (talk) 17:22, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Certification for Miénteme in the US

Hello There, I saw that my edit for Riaa latin certification has been removed. I know that Riaa has its own list where certified singles are listed and maybe the song is not listed there yet, but here is an article from the Official Sony Music Latin label where it says how the song has reached 2x platinum certification in US. Herese the link for that article: https://www.sonymusiclatin.com/tini-se-divierte-con-el-desamor-en-su-sencillo-bar-junto-a-l-gante/

Honestly think that certification should be written there because it is also a reliable and official source.

Yiwistar (talk) 12:57, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Yiwistar: Last time I checked, RIAA is the certifying authority for sales in the US. Sony is a record label, they are not a certifying authority. If Sony says am album was certified and RIAA says it wasn't, RIAA is correct and Sony is wrong. This just demonstrates that a label can never be trusted when they claim a certification. Contrary to what you suggest, they are not reliable when it comes to their own sales, and they are most certainly are not the official source for certifications. --Muhandes (talk) 13:05, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Izvestia

Hi, most of the edits citing it as a source were reverted back when they were added years ago. Either way, a random document appearing out of nowhere with no association with the Russian music industry association or even any label's website and containing blatant errors (4x Platinum = 80k -> 5x Platinum 120k), if not flat out made up certifications (Bronze awards) can reasonably be deemed fake. Furthermore, this article explains the streaming era's thresholds in Russia (as adopted by the major labels, which are the only ones assigning awards currently, once again there's no mention of that on their national association's website) that in no ways correspond to those in the document. ×°˜`°×ηαη¢у×°˜`°× 16:12, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
