I can't read your mind. You are wrong. As you already observed on the article talk page, WP:Competence is required. But if you aren't convinced already, there is nothing to add. What we have here is a failure to communicate. I'm done here. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 14:24, 27 December 2020 (UTC) |

The opening sentence reads - "A bolt is a unit of measurement used as an industry standard for a variety of materials from wood to canvas, typically materials stored in a roll." - It is not a unit of measurement. Needs TNT. For info a bolt of fabric is just a chunk, of no defined length or width.Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 09:00, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep This is a fairly fundamental concept in an important industry – see The Fabric of Civilisation for a recent book on the subject. The worst case here would be merger into the glossary of textile manufacturing which currently does not have it. Note also that WP:TNT is an essay and so has "no official status". - Could you possibly define a "bolt" for me Andrew? shouldn't be difficult for you? After all, you said it is an important concept in an important industry. +++ baits breath +++ -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 16:24, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep As per WP:RESCUE recent edits 1. RegardsRAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 15:42, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

- Redirect to Glossary of textile manufacturing, where I've just added it. It's really a good candidate for a glossary as there's not a ton to say about it. It's a commercial unit. They make fabric, then they wrap them around a cardboard tube/flat, and either the tube itself or the roll of fabric with it is called a bolt. It's not a unit of measurement, it's a unit of inventory. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 19:49, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- Redirect As per Rhododendrites (I’d thought maybe to Textile but this suggestion is much better). Brunton (talk) 20:23, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Fundamental concept/term. Defined in the article. WP:Not paper; WP:Preserve. Article is not what it was when this deletion effort started. WP:HEY Exceeds WP:GNG. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 13:28, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep per WP:GNG and WP:HEY. Also, this term is used commonly enough on reality TV shows and in YouTube videos (such as Project Runway) that it's likely our core readership will expect to find this article on Wikipedia. Bearian (talk) 20:17, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Absolutely relevant concept in the fabric arts. The article sucks, but it's from lack of effort/interest, not from irrelevance. As long as humans have been making textiles, how they are organized, stored, and transported will have some kind of history. Silk road? Industrial Revolution? Haute couture? How about the etymology? Or even manufacturing specs? Anything less than a keep shows obvious Bias (textile) (pun intended) Estheim (talk) 23:57, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
