Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here |

Current requests for increase in protection level
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Same or multiple user keeps re-adding the same unsourced, unreliable content over and over.
Full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. Mazewaxie (talk • contribs) 20:13, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- I've blocked the anon user's current IP for WP:3RR. I'm not inclined to fully protect yet, but if they show up with other IP addresses to continue reverting while this one is blocked, I would consider that sockpuppetry and would revert/semi-protect at that time. ST47 (talk) 20:34, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- . Declined Procedural. Lectonar (talk) 10:08, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Empty edit requests spanning the month. . -- LuK3 (Talk) 14:55, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- Declined No reason to protect the talk-page...these requests might be annoying, but there you go. Lectonar (talk) 10:10, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – There are some IP addressess that add unsourced content. Main CentralTime301 page and talk 15:58, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- Declined – Likely collateral damage as one or several users who are making improvements would be affected by the requested protection. And some IPs who revert vandalism....Lectonar (talk) 10:11, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: persistent vandalism and insults from several IPs under one user. --Bankster (talk) 21:29, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- User(s) blocked. Main perpetrator blocked. Lectonar (talk) 10:11, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Looks like an edit war involving IPs spanning the past week. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:29, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
Full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. Sid95Q (talk) 01:53, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- Note: Doesn't look like anyone was warned, I've issued warnings and will monitor. Both parties have violated 3RR. ST47 (talk) 03:38, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. pageseditor (talk) 04:41, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- Consider the edit warring noticeboard – This is a case of possible edit-warring by one or two users. Lectonar (talk) 14:09, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP vandalism involving BLP-violating material. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 05:47, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- Declined – Warn the user appropriately then report them to AIV or ANI if they continue. Lectonar (talk) 10:49, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent disruptive editing by unregistered editors, also could be related to previously blocked user @ WP:SOCK. Night Lanternhalo? 06:05, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Too much disruption for pending changes. Some edits are being incorrectly accepted. Long protection history. StaticVapor message me! 06:15, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Page has been protected for the last 6 months. Protection just ended and vandalism returned. StaticVapor message me! 06:22, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Vandalism by IP editors and new users including long term abuse. StaticVapor message me! 06:28, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Too much disruption for pending changes. Long protection history. StaticVapor message me! 07:03, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary extended confirmed: Persistent sockpuppetry – Block evasion by Special:Contributions/46.208.192.0/18, using other IPs from the same location: Hemel Hempstead. Binksternet (talk) 07:54, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. DoebLoggs (talk) 10:33, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The subject is a regular one in school history, and so it attracts an inevitable stream of childish vandalism. This isn't going to go away and it's a time sink for GF editors to keep cleaning it up. Nor is the article likely to develop much or benefit from editing by non-autoconfirmed editors. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:47, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Morphing IPs. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:51, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

- Already protected. Lectonar (talk) 12:53, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Indefinite Semi-protection: Again and again IP users remove the flag from the info box. And I think it will continue like this. Behind it is definitely a vandal or nationalist.[1][2] Neutrale Person (talk) 11:54, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Short-term new editor vandalism. -- LuK3 (Talk) 12:55, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Users adding content against community consensus. Same issue as Tamil-Brahmi article. ThaThinThaKiThaTha (talk) 13:05, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Same IP editor previously disrupting Más País is now doing likewise on this article. Should be temporarily protected to stop the warring before further damage is done. Impru20talk 13:17, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

- A long time ago I asked the person who set the protection level to remove it but I received no answer. Sorry I cannot remember who that was.Chidgk1 (talk) 09:43, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

I would like to request that you either add the technical reasons redirect hatnote into the {{Hatgrp}} template or dismantle that template. 143.179.74.165 (talk) 10:57, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Not done We don't "dismantle" templates. It's not clear what you are asking for. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:39, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Create a level 3 header with a link to the article in question, then a {{Pagelinks}} template and then the reason. It looks like this: Example (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) your request here. ~~~~
In the photo displayed alongside the Signature subsection, Alexis Tsipras is on the left and Zoran Zaev is on the right, but the order of their names in the caption is reversed. Also, the location where the photo was taken is identified as being in [[Republic of Macedonia|Macedonia]]
. That now redirects to North Macedonia. Once that is updated, should it be piped, as the country had not yet changed its name when the photo was taken? Or perhaps the words in what is now
can be inserted in front of North Macedonia. —173.129.59.223 (talk) 05:52, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
There's more: I only just now read the text of the Signature subsection. It says the agreement was signed by the two countries' foreign ministers in the presence of their prime ministers, but the caption of the photo implies it was signed by the prime ministers. —184.207.65.109 (talk) 04:06, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
