Ishq or Ashq (Aşk in Turkish, عشق in Persian) is a special term for divine love in Islamic terminology.
Ishq (इशक़ عشق), in Hindi and Urdu, denotes fervent, passionate love. The lover (male) is called an Aashiq, and the loved one (female) is called an Aashqah.
The term has also been applied in various popular-culture contexts, including the name of a record company,[1], and the title of a music CD by Abida Parveen. The British musician Mark Hillier has released his ambient music recordings under the name Ishq.
