Misusing a process discussion for spreading your personal political opinions, as you did here [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Move_review/Log/2014_April&curid=42086618&diff=604177651&oldid=604175113], is unacceptable on Wikipedia, especially when it's about a hot political topic like the present Crimea conflict.

Revision as of 16:45, 14 April 2014

February 2010

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to C-ute. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 06:00, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:AKB48 RIVER Regular Edition (KIZM-43) cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:AKB48 RIVER Regular Edition (KIZM-43) cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Yamada ryosuke

Hello Moscowconnection. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Yamada ryosuke, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Is a plausible, useful redirect or is not a redirect at all. Thank you. Courcelles 02:57, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The redirect clearly resulted from a typo or misnomer as R3 states. The page Ryosuke Yamada was created with that name and then moved to where it is now, see the very second edit. But surely, it's a typo but not an implausible one. :D Probably, I misinterpreted the criteria. Moscowconnection (talk) 03:30, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Naming for AKB48 team

Hi Moscowconnection, I am writing to you about the changes to the name "Team Kenkyūsei" that you have made. I believe that it should still retain the name as they are officially known to most people. In fact, pages like Everyday, Kachūsha ans Koko ni Ita Koto use this term. I hink you should just revert it back. Thanks!--Lionratz (talk) 13:51, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've restored the article so you can add references, etc. if you want. Cheers, BigDom 22:13, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How to read Oricon pages?

Hi - I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on how to read Oricon web pages (URLs or the actual text of the page) to be able to find charts that would help show how someone meets WP:MUSICBIO # 2 or 3. Thanks for any help! --Malkinann (talk) 04:45, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Search here, in the top left search box ("Search for: Artist Name" (アーティスト名が)).
    Example:
If you search for the name Momoko Tsugunaga (嗣永桃子, with or without a space), you'll find this profile. The top 3 figures are the top ranks of her singles, albums and DVDs. She doesn't have neither solo singles nor solo albums that ranked, but she had a DVD at number 9. The 2 figures below are "TV appearances: 60" and "Commercials: --". Btw, the latter doesn't seem right cause her Japanese Wikipedia page lists a commercial for Pizza-La.
How to find the DVD and many articles mentioning her:
    The folders below are:
    1. Digest (ダイジェスト)
    2. Profile (プロフィール)
      1. Profile (プロフィール)
      2. History (ヒストリー): TV appearances, releases featuring her, etc.
    3. News and Specials (ニュース一・特集): Articles on the Oricon website mentioning her
      1. News (ニュース一)
      2. Specials and Interviews (特集&インタビュー)]
      3. Rankings News (ランキングトピックス一)
    4. Works (作品)
    5. Rankings (ランキング)
      1. Singles (シングル)
      2. Albums (アルバム)
      3. DVDs
What's interesting is that the DVD which reached number 9 was a 2010 concert by Berryz Kobo, the band she's in. Momoko also has solo DVDs. They are in the list. There are 3 solo DVDs that ranked 20, 32, and 58.
    6. Schedule (スケジュール): Schedule of her appearances

Thank you so much for going to the effort! :D Would you mind if I reposted this at WT:ANIME, so that others know as well? --Malkinann (talk) 23:38, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay! Do it! Moscowconnection (talk) 00:10, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, if there's a place for a more detailed guide than Wikipedia:ANIME#Online_tools_and_resources somewhere (like, on a project subpage), I can make some sort of guide there. It would help in saving articles from deletion. Moscowconnection (talk) 00:10, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you repost this, then repost my proposal too. :D Moscowconnection (talk) 00:10, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga/Online_reliable_sources - I imagine a subpage could be made there much like the "Details" subpages on Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Reference Library. --Malkinann (talk) 00:33, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I haven't seen the page. I'll do it then. In the upcoming days. ^^; --Moscowconnection (talk) 02:39, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Genghis Berryz etc.

Hello, I saw your message at my talk, please understand that I was editing unrelated articles and came across this by chance. As it was not very clear I tried to make it more readable, I will address the issues that you have raised, only one thing all-girl *IS* necessary because outside of Japan we don't know that Japanese idol groups are same sex. DOY Pages

Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for trimming some of the births you put into the Days of the year pages yesterday. I or someone else would have eventually trimmed them to fit the page format. Just to let you know while I'm here, I undid 3 of your edits yesterday, 1 for being in the wrong date page (I only remember it was placed in August instead of April, date number was correct though, possibly 16), and 2 for having conflicting birth dates within the articles with no citations. I did trim 1 or 2 as I was flying to keep up with you :) Ken Tholke (talk) 13:25, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Again, thank you and good job!

  • I went through my yesterday's edits to the articles on the days of the year, and I think the entries fit the format now. And thank you for mentioning the edits you undid, I've found them all now, and all 3 dates were wrong. :) Moscowconnection (talk) 15:01, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moscowconnection, thanks for helping to improve Japan-related culture. You are right to say that I am not really a big fan of AKB48, since I haven't even attended one of their regular concerts in my country. Furthermore, I am a newbie to this group, so I have made many errors in my edits regarding them. On that note, thanks for pointing out these mistakes.

However, I would like to point out that articles have been ruined because fans of that particular topic spammed the article with too much fan-related information. I want to keep AKB48 articles free of this type of occurrence.

Lastly, I need some help to find more references. As you might have noticed, I have been adding {{citation needed}} tags to sections that lacks them. I am trying my best to avoid these tags, but I really do not know where to find more references. Can you help in this task? In addition, please try your best to include references for any new information that you may add. Cheers!--Lionratz (talk) 08:59, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing up AKB48 and the official youtube channel. I also reworded that top 5 sentence, hopefully that communicates what the writer originally intended. If not, feel free to tweak it. AngusWOOF (talk) 23:59, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for rewording. It does communicate what the writer originally intended. That's exactly what I meant when I wrote it. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 00:37, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are too many sentences explaining how the hell the name is supposed to be written or read. There is nothing inherently wrong about the way I included the katakana because I have not done so in a way that is implying that it is written in Japanese by the katakana. I ahve included it as part of the pronunciation. Do we really need two sentences explaining "C-ute" is pronounced as the English word "Cute"? And why should Japanese text be omitted when you already have the Hepburn romanization on the page. This is getting out of "I disagree with the current formatting" and more "Stay away from my pages" with your reverts. This is particularly telling because you're the one who made that excessive exposition in the first place.—Ryulong (竜龙) 23:20, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you hadn't removed the information months ago I wouldn't have had to put it back in.—Ryulong (竜龙) 00:15, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I removed it before the discussion at WT:JAPAN started. It was just one small improvement (from my point of view), I have been rewriting the article since last spring. I do think the info is useful, but not in the first sentence. I want the article to be read, so I think from the point of view of an English speaker who hears about °C-ute and comes to Wikipedia to learn about the group. Moscowconnection (talk) 00:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cute (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages, and is also a duplication of Cute (disambiguation). Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines on consensus building, before creating duplicate disambiguation pages.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WesleyMouse 15:17, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't misinterpreted the rules for CSD. I read all the criteria at CSD, and use twinkle to select the correct G6 submission. This is because its an unnecessary and orphaned disambiguation page; when Cute (disambiguation) page already exists covering the same disambiguation rules. I encourage your enthusiasm in becoming a good editor and creating as many new articles as possible. But sometimes it is always best to check with WP:NEW or research if a new article is needed, or if another one covering your proposals is in existence. WesleyMouse 15:49, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you would like to take some time to familiarise yourself with the guidelines at disambiguation and also the dos and don'ts. WesleyMouse 15:52, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

May 2012

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Cute (band), a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. WesleyMouse 16:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see no buttons. The notice says "If this article does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, please remove this notice." Moscowconnection (talk) 16:38, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article talk page is where any discussions would take place, similar to the way a discussion took place at Talk:Cute (Japanese band) when the request to move the article was submitted. Deleting admins will carefully check to see if the correct criteria has been dertmined, and will also check to see if another disambiguation page exists. As we have already established the latter then it would be likely to get deleted, but we will have to see what the admins decide. WesleyMouse 16:43, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Cute (band). If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. WesleyMouse 16:49, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I previously informed you to engage in the discussion at Talk:Cute (band) before removing maintenance tags, please participate in the discussion as advised. In doing so, you are avoiding being blocked for violation of the 3 revert rules. WesleyMouse 16:56, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know about 3RR. I hadn't read what you wrote about the talk page when I reverted, sorry. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:00, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
These notice and the one on the article do not match one another. There are no buttons and it says to remove. The notice says "If this article does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, please remove this notice." What should I do? It's funny, actually. I will post on the talk page. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:00, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Could you give me the link to where the button, that you obviously can see, points? :) Moscowconnection (talk) 17:01, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The notice "If this article does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, please remove this notice." is for admins. It is basically informing the administrator to remove the tag if they feel the article doesn't meet the criteria it has been nominated for. Slow down in future and wait to see if editors reply back to you before rushing off and doing something, there are no deadlines on Wikipedia.. This alone proves the fact that you rushed in removing the template tag before waiting for me to reply back to you. Also at Talk:Cute (Japanese band) you asked if we need to used Cute (band) page as a disambiguation. Before waiting for me to give you a reply to your question, you went ahead anyway and created the page - whereas if you waited a little while you would have noticed there wasn't a need to make the article. Patience is a virtue, and nothing needs to be rushed. WesleyMouse 17:07, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Sorry. It's funny, though. I posted on the Cute (band) talk page now. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:23, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All the templates used are pre-worded templates, and I'm unable to re-word them without posting it first and then manually altering afterwards. I have campaigned about these a few times, informing people that a review on how they are worded needs to be carried out. But alas the requests to date have been ignored. And something which I suppose I have to grin and bear with. Looks like though that an admin has reviewed the nomination, and feels it can remain - so another issue resolved thanks to going down the appropriate channels. Happy editing. WesleyMouse 17:27, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The admin has added a new tag though, one that is requesting the page be merged to an already completed one - which I can only assume means it will get merged into Cute (disambiguation) after all. WesleyMouse 17:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. It has been redirected already. I'm not sure it is what had to be done, but I will read the disambiguation rules. And in a few days, I'll see how Wikipedia search, Google, Yahoo, etc. react. Sorry for the trouble. You should understand that I wanted Cute (Japanese band) be easy to find. Presently, it is not the case. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:46, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Have you thought about seeking advice on how to make things easier to search at the village pump or better still at the help desk? WesleyMouse 17:51, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I didn't think about it. It would help. What I know is that when I type "Cute" in Yahoo or Google, the Japanese band doesn't come up near the top. It did, but then it stopped. And it upsets me. :) And I don't get what titles are on top of the list in Wikipedia search suggestions. I will have to ask there. I'll see what happens with the search and then I'll think how to ask it. Moscowconnection (talk) 18:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And thank you for your patience. The tag persistently said to remove it, so I though it was really funny and reverted the second time. :) Moscowconnection (talk) 18:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed your talk page is getting rather lengthy too. Do you know about archiving? If you click on H:ARC you'll find a step-by-step guide. Alternatively, I could install an archive set-up for you, I've helped a couple of users out with archiving in the past too, so I don't mind. WesleyMouse 18:17, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'll learn how archiving is done, but I don't want to archive just yet. I don't receive many comments (that is, I hadn't until yesterday), and there are many bot messages that can be removed without archiving. Moscowconnection (talk) 18:43, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

Hello, Moscow Connection. You have new messages at Talk:Cute (Japanese band).
Message added 20:03, 7 May 2012 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

WesleyMouse 20:03, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moscowconnection,

I've had a gander over at the article - looking impressive now. However, I thought I should point out on the infobox (right-hand side of article), where it says Website should really have the band's official website page, and not the URL of their YouTube channel. This could do with being fixed, to keep in accordance with manual of style for infobox parameters. BOT's are prone to do random checks and may end up removing that link if it doesn't recognise it as the official page.

Also, it may be worth taking a break from the article too. The page history only shows you as being the single-editor on the article, which to the community can be seen as someone taking ownership of articles; so please be cautious there; as this would be violating one of the five pillars. WesleyMouse 18:51, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to Talk:Cute (Japanese band)#Official website. Moscowconnection (talk) 20:10, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm removing all those videos from all those infoboxes. We are not a directory of links, and the plethora of them only serve to strengthen the idea that these pages are like fan sites. Sorry, but it's not the purpose of Wikipedia to exhaustively list, let alone link, everything. I watched one of those videos (and need to wash my eyes now) on the official cutechannel, and they start with a fifteen-second add--so they promote the band as well as the companies that advertise on the band's YouTube channel. That is simply unacceptable. BTW, one of those articles had 31 YouTube videos linked--I'm pretty sure that's a record. Drmies (talk) 15:17, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They don't start with the ad. It's YouTube who ads the advertisements. You will have all the videos from YouTube to remove all YouTube videos soon. And you should install an ad bloscker. Moscowconnection (talk) 15:54, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't matter. You are linking to ads. And please don't tell me what to install: I am a regular, unsophisticated PC user, like probably most Wikipedia readers. Drmies (talk) 15:57, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It was just a recommendation. Sorry, if it sounded differently. I'm replying on the Cute talk page about the rest. I have it in my watchlist. Moscowconnection (talk) 16:09, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, I should apologize--I put that way too strongly. ;) Drmies (talk) 17:10, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. No problem. The ads are annoying, by the way. Google always acted like they were everyone's best friend, and now they made watching YouTube impossible. I think that a war against YouTube may start eventually, but I wouldn't want it to start on Cute articles. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:53, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Apply common sense. First of all, music videos are by definition promotional. Second, not all videos on YouTube have ads. Third, 31? Drmies (talk) 16:03, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Eureka! Check out WP:YOUTUBE. Apparently there is a limitation to Youtube links, and also strict guidelines too, as there are copyright issues to be wary of also, and if my memory serves me correctly, users can be banned for repeated copyvios. WesleyMouse 16:06, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since it's an official channel for the band, I don't think there's copyright violations. Drmies (talk) 17:09, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the discusson to Talk:Cute (Japanese band)#Official website and Talk:Cute (Japanese band)#Music videos. Moscowconnection (talk) 16:47, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Importance scale at Talk:Natalie (website)

Moscowconnection,

Not sure if you know or not, but from what I gather the importance scales are suppose to be set at "low" and then it is up to the project to change them accordingly. A bot will notify the projects that this article has been added, and that they need to review the importance scale. WesleyMouse 19:32, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, you could add {{DEFAULTSORT:Natalie (website}} and a bot will work out the scales for the project. WesleyMouse 19:35, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If the importance is left unassessed, then the article will be listed as unassessed. Otherwise, no one from a project will simply come to assess it. For this particular article, it will be most probably set to Low for any non-Japanese projects, but still it doesn't seem right to decide fot them. As I understand it, at least. {{DEFAULTSORT}} is explained here: DEFAULTSORT#Default sort key. Moscowconnection (talk) 19:54, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A list of what the importance scales mean can be found at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Release Version Criteria#WikiProject importance assessments. From what that link reads, members of a project or external interests can scale the level of importance. Based on the article being of a specialised subject, its level would be low for WP:Media and WP:Journalism - as the guidance reads LOW = subject is mainly of specialist interest. I have left a copy of this conversation on the article's talk page. WesleyMouse 20:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Let's wait for someone from the projects to come. Moscowconnection (talk) 21:28, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page style

What the hell is your problem? I added the outdent at Talk:Cute (Japanese band) because that is manual of style on talk pages. The way you worded your edit summary was uncalled for, and I find it very distressing to be honest with you. Chill out man, and think. WesleyMouse 20:18, 20 May 2012 (UTC) Sorry, just realised I placed the outdent on the wrong line - it was suppose to be inbetween your last comment and my latest. WesleyMouse 20:23, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You moved my comment. I don't think it's polite to touch other people's comments. I replied to one particular message of yours. Moscowconnection (talk) 20:31, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is a particular manual of style also used on article talk pages. A user can restyle the comments to put things into an easy-readable flow; as long as they don't alter the wording. You're making it sound like I altered everything you written when I hadn't. And I have apologised above explaining the outdent was placed on the wrong line. Why are you being so harsh with me Moscow? I really don't understand the behaviour lately. Remember just how delicate I am at the moment, and such wordings are likely to spark me off, which is something I don't need right now - geeze its the funeral tomorrow, so it is very easy for me to do typo errors. We all make mistakes, nobody is perfect, so go easy with me OK! WesleyMouse 20:37, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Sorry. Moscowconnection (talk) 21:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nah I'm sorry Moscowconnection. I now can see why a lot of the experienced editors kept telling me to take time off from editing. My stubbornness got the better of me, and all I've done is just snap people's heads off. The hardest thing will be this coming week, when the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 is on TV. Every year my mother and I would sit and watch that, while eating popcorn, and giving our own scores - this year will be strange now as I'll be all alone. WesleyMouse 21:05, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My condolences, Wesley. Sorry. Moscowconnection (talk) 21:11, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48

Thanks for your clarification! Oh, how else do you think we should improve the article from here on? I know that a lot of content is missing, but exactly what to include is still undefined. It really does not help that no other Japanese idol groups have articles that are ranked GA or above. Do you that that we should refer to K-pop groups that have released singles in Japan, just to use them as models, of course. And I am really sorry if I have added untrue or inaccurate information to the article. Happy editing.--Lionratz (talk) 12:47, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there are some good K-pop articles. I did look at them for ideas. I think we should completely rewrite the History section. And create more thematic sections to give people something interesting to read. Moscowconnection (talk) 03:09, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry for not responding. I thought you would leave reply on my talk page. Anyways, I have been researching. I till cannot find much (not to mention reliable sources) regarding AKB48 before 2008 or 2007. Can you point me in the right direction. Oh, as for the Korean groups, I have narrowed down to Girls' Generation and TVXQ. I choose the former because it is currently nominated for GA and has undergo massive restructuring, while TVXQ has a strong Japanese connection. I think we should adapt some of their style and structure in AKB48. What do you think?--Lionratz (talk) 07:56, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, it's me who hadn't been here for a few days. You replied immediately. It's summer where I live, so I may disappear at any time. If not for the latest developments at the Cute article, I wouldn't be here since a few weeks back. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:20, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Let's discuss everything on the AKB48 talk page. To start with, I'm not sure whether the parts about overseas appearances that I copied into a new section should be removed from the history section. What do you think? Moscowconnection (talk) 17:20, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nogizaka46 controversy included in AKB48 article

Hi, I mentioned this on the AKB48 article's talk page the other day, but I thought I'd ask again here. What reason is there to include the information about Nogizaka46's choreography controversy on the article for AKB48? As far as I can see, it has no place there. It should be included on Nogizaka46's article, and possibly even Akimoto Yasushi's article, but it has no connection to AKB48. The controversy did not include the AKB48 group in any way, or include any AKB48 members. Could you clarify why you wish to include this information? Kaixa913 (talk) 07:35, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to leave the part because it makes the article better. It's recent, interesting, entertaining. We need to give people something to read, something to return to Wikipedia for. Also, it ends the otherwise dull "Controversies" section on a happier note. I know we will have to remove the info sooner or later. But hopefully I will expand and rewrite the section by then. If you think it's simply unacceptable having the info there, remove it from the article yourself. Moscowconnection (talk) 17:20, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I didn't think to get back to you. Just to let you know, I have basically no connection to that image, and no opinion on the issue which you have brought to my attention; you're welcome to do whatever you need to, in my eyes. Thanks! J Milburn (talk) 19:34, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I will have to discuss the matter with the Raising a flag over the Reichstag article's author then, since no one else seems to be against changing the image. Moscowconnection (talk) 04:30, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes on non-English references

Concerning your AWB bug report I would like to say that per MOS:QUOTE styling of apostrophes and quotation marks should be adapted to English Wikipedia's conventions without comment. MOS:QUOTE reads "This practice of conforming typographical styling to a publication's own "house style" is universal". -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:01, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please ask in the manual of style talk page for clarification? Because it reads "Allowable typographical alterations include these: Styling of apostrophes and quotation marks". -- Magioladitis (talk) 14:27, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can't do it now cause I'm not on regularly and I won't be able to engage in long discussions. I'll ask there later. --Moscowconnection (talk) 04:09, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Morning Musume Only you Regular Edition (EPCE-5785) cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Morning Musume Only you Regular Edition (EPCE-5785) cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi. When you recently edited Berryz Kobo discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page EP (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Redirects

Please read WP:REDIRECT#NOTBROKEN.

I notice that the majority of your recent contributions you explain solely as "Avoiding redirect". Please be aware that doing so is not only unnecessary, but undesirable and detrimental, for reasons as explained in the relevant guideline. I appreciate your general enthusiasm but I for one would rather you didn't continue putting it into that particular "fix". If you still feel that avoiding redirects is a desirable thing, how about you say why here and we can discuss whether one of us may have failed to consider something? Cesiumfrog (talk) 01:30, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Okay. I will read WP:REDIRECT#NOTBROKEN thoroughly now. I'm not enthusiastic about redirects and I was not going to fix the whole Wikipedia. I've already finished with links to Cute. What I did is very convenient for me. The problem is that in the past I've added links to Cute instead of Cute (Japanese band). Since Cute redirects to Cuteness instead of a disambiguation page, no bot notified me about it. I have to look through the list of articles that link to Cute periodically. So, I thought that if I make the list smaller, it will be easier next time. It kind of worked cause today I fixed a link to Cute (Japanese band) that I never noticed before. Now the list is short and I will be able to detect wrong links easily. Also, a few months ago I changed all links to the group to point to Cute (Japanese band) directly. Again, it's very convenient for me, cause its name can be written in many different ways and having no articles pointing to redirects allows me to easily find it written as "C-ute" or "℃-ute". --Moscowconnection (talk) 02:47, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I can

Hi MC. Regarding your edit summary: You can't remove everything like this. It doesn't look like you researched the subject., please see WP:BURDEN and WP:BLP, WP:RS and WP:V. In short, the burden is on the editor who adds the info to source it carefully, not on me. I hope this helps. Anyway, good work on adding more references to the article. Keep it up! About edit summaries

I just saw this. Please avoid edit summaries like: It's sourced. (You've just added an official source yourself, the birth days and months are there. How can you add a source without looking at it?, because it is a way to attack the other editor without giving them the chance to defend themselves. How can I reply to this accusation? By another lengthy edit summary? That is simply not sustainable. So please stop this practice. If you have any questions, the proper thing to do is open a discussion at the talkpage of the article concerned where I can have the chance to properly address your accusations. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 00:29, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm very sorry. You are 100% right. I was simply shocked that you removed everything again. I'm sure many people would think you were vandalizing. Daum is a reliable source, their birth days and months are on the official site, and you removed them. When I saw your new edits, I even thought for a moment that from the very start your aim was simply to delete their ages, since their agency and probably some fans don't want them to be known. I apologize again. Should the edit sumary be deleted somehow? --Moscowconnection (talk) 01:21, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I left the same message at Drmies's talkpage

Hi MC. I saw your discussion with Drmies and left a comment there. I repeat it here for convenience:

  • I have created a new section at Wikiproject Korea: K-pop articles coordination. It could serve as an initial coordination place for K-pop articles and as a central reference point where the problems they face as a group of articles could be centrally addressed. It could also be expanded into a different subpage, something like a K-pop working group. You are, of course, welcome to create any such new subpage if you think it is necessary. This subsection is just a proposed starting place. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:52, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cuteness

Hey, M. About the pictures at Cuteness, from where I stand the discussion is pretty much concluded. Nevertheless, to avoid the appearance of rushing things along, I'd wait a couple more days (or make that a full week) before instating an edit request, unless you or someone else beats me to it.

Maybe you saw my last comment there. Imho, the Knut image doesn't add anything of true value to the article either, regardless of its acceptable sourcing. So, although the primary issue was the OR of the other images, maybe the best threshold would be to just not use any "pics of cute things"? Not hellbent either way, so I'd like to hear your take. --87.79.132.152 (talk) 21:14, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gangnam Style

I just want to begin by saying that I could've been more specific with my edit on the "Gangnam Style" page. But I don't get why a bunch of users think that I'm trying to start conflicts. I have ADHD (and possibly a little OCD) which may be why I like things done a certain way. It just seems weird to me putting a Latin Songs chart on a Korean song. Anyway, I'm sorry about my edit. If you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks! Easy4me (talk) 16:03, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 and apparent ownership

It seems you have a hard time accepting anyone else edits on anything that has to do with AKB48. While I tried to assume good faith you are really making it hard seeing how every time I or some else edits the articles you revert them. You are showing ownership over the articles and it is not really helping the article(s) improve nor is it inviting other to feel welcomed to edit those articles. I hope we get along and try to improve the project rather than disagree over every single edit. しれない Shirenaitalk 21:47, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not true. I don't own the article and I actually think it's really bad and there's nothing much to defend. I reverted one edit of yours, then I added what I think was an improvement, and then you reverted my addition and I didn't object. I'm sorry if you don't feel welcomed. Maybe I should have just let your edit stay because the matter wasn't important. AKB48-related articles need more editors. Surely, you are free to improve them. --Moscow Connection (talk) 09:34, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I removed your response from my page because I would like to keep the conversation in one place. In responding to you I want to point out you reverted all the edits I made 1 and 2, not just the one. So, of course I would feel as if you believe you own the articles and would feel unwelcome. しれない Shirenaitalk 16:30, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
1. That's okay, I understand. But I commented on your page, and the comment should stay there. 2. Now I see that we've met on another page before. I think you should not have insisted on your corrections. After all, the pages existed in some state before you came, and it was up to you to prove that your edits were improvements. 3. I can see that you added valuable information to Wikipedia, you are welcomed. AKB48 needs more editors. --Moscow Connection (talk) 17:08, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Explain to me how they weren't an improvement? I reduced the number of red links, removed the linking of the same artist and article twice -which in a short article such as 1830m makes it looks cleaner-, I abbreviated the artists already listed because it seems to be practiced used by the project as a whole when it comes to other music articles and lastly I removed the repetitive nihongo tags per MOS:JAPAN. The article looked a little less cluttered that way but you didn't see that only reverted. Also in response to this edit according the MOS for Japan it was correct to switch it to Atsuko Maeda. しれない Shirenaitalk 18:59, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the red links afterwards. Your abbreviations didn't look good to me. "Ma.", "Mi.", etc. I think the nihongo templates are useful. (By the way, could you point me to where the rules say to remove them. Cause I heard about it but didn't see it myself.) "Atsuko Maeda Solo Ver." seems to be a part of the title. --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:20, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It says it in the first paragraph of that link (Generally, Japanese script for a word can be added to the text the first time it is introduced, provided that the word is not linked to another article on the English Wikipedia.) While it is apart of the title it is the order of the name is what I'm referring to. According to MOS:JAPAN the title should be "Sakura no Hanabira (Atsuko Maeda Solo Ver.)" and not "Sakura no Hanabira (Maeda Atsuko Solo Ver.)". しれない Shirenaitalk 21:42, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see. Please don't insist. Cause it makes the article better. And they are not in the article text even. I understand that you are talking about the order of the name, but I'm saying that I consider it part of the song's title. (Now I'm not sure, though.) Like, if there were an English-language song titled "Maeda Atsuko", it wouldn't be right to say that its title was "Atsuko Maeda". Anyway, let's not argue. You can rename it to "Atsuko Maeda Solo Ver.", but it doesn't seem right to me. But please delete Sakiko Matsui from the list of soloists, she really looks out of place there. --Moscow Connection (talk) 22:14, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. しれない Shirenaitalk 23:32, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wil try ("try" haha~) to let you do whatever you want. Just edit. Don't think about me hating your edits or whatever. The article 1830m is practically a stub, I created it in 5 minutes (more like an hour plus) and left. Whatever you do will be better than its current state. I actually even have to thank you that you care about it. AKB48 articles do get some considerable amount of views, but no one cares to expand them. As you probably noticed, I'm a bit off AKB48 articles, I'm concentrating on other groups at the moment. I do want to come back, but I can't do everything at once. (I hope you have the talk page in your watchlist.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 17:41, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Why did you think current Momoclo image is better than this one? I think current image is too blurred, outdated, and lower resolution than My choice. and we need to consider other editors' opinion. Puramyun31 (talk) 08:01, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do think the image I chose is better quality and, most importantly, it shows what the group is like. Another editor has already expressed his opinion: [1], [2]. Should we ask him to come up here? I'm sorry to keep finding issues, but the concept of a transformation belt is unfamiliar to me, and I'm sure that lots of readers will be confused by it. The article currently passes the DYK rules, but it's not a good idea to confuse readers. Could you please add a short comment in the article to explain what it is, or provide a link to a related article? That being done, I will approve the article. Nyttend (talk) 20:54, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I will do it. --Moscow Connection (talk) 22:15, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Morning Musume

I noticed you replaced the word "in 2012" to the word "current" for the member list. [3] You attention is invited to WP:REALTIME. , wikipedia's policy on words that should be avoided, including "currently", "today", "now". Da Vynci (talk) 06:58, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it because "2012" was incorrect. Risa Niigaki left the group on May 18, 2012, and she is not in the list. By the way, Template:Infobox musical artist has a parameter named "current members", it's just that it shows up simply as "Members". If you don't like the word "current", you can delete it and leave the section name as "Members". But I think "Current members" is more clear and comprehensible. --Moscow Connection (talk) 01:48, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Most recent edits

Thanks for the note; it didn't seem to me that some of the latest edits conformed to the sources, so I thought it better to reword it myself than to force you to make changes. The nomination has now been approved, so it will be going to DYK before long. Nyttend (talk) 13:51, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your edits were fine. Better than what I wrote. Certainly a big step towards the right direction. It was my subsequent edits that I was not sure of. I changed the whole section one minute after you approved the nomination, so I thought you should look at the article again. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:50, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant by "approved" is that someone else has approved it, i.e. it's closed and won't be modified again. The next step is placement in a DYK prep area. Nyttend (talk) 15:15, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now I understand. I didn't know someone else checked it afterwards. I thought moving a nomination to the preparation area was just a mechanical step. --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:25, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE: SPS

I see that you've reverted my edit at Harlem Shake (meme). If you want to litter the article you're a major contributor to with self-published sources, be my guest. I'm not contributing to that article if constructive changes arent welcome. But please refrain from inappropriately tagging properly sourced material as you did here. The failed verification tag is not to be used to tag information you dont agree with, but for information that meets this criteria. Do not revert the primary contributor of the article. Read the source cited ([4], second paragraph) and respect my contributions. If you still feel the source cited doesnt mesh with you, discuss it at the article's talk page. Do not get into a silly revert war over a small background detail to a song article. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 02:28, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm citing Template:Failed verification:

Use this tag only if:

  1. an inline citation to a source is given,
  2. you have checked the source,
  3. the source does not support what is contained in the article, and
  4. despite the source not supporting the article, the source still contains useful information on the topic.

This is exactly what happened, exactly. I read the source and saw that the sentence you wrote completely misinterpreted what Billboard wrote. Therefore I added a template. (I now see that you were the one who wrote it or, rather, completely changed in this edit: [5]. I didn't know it.) There are 2 issues with the sentence: misinterpretation and being in contradiction to other sources. Therefore I added 2 templates, 2 separate templates. You may not agree with the {{better source}} template, okay. But you shouldn't remove the {{failed verification}} template. (As for your claim that the {{better source}} template can't be placed cause other sources are "self-published", they aren't self-published. But Billboard is a good source, okay. I understand why you insist.) I didn't change the sentence myself exactly because I respect you contributions. --Moscow Connection (talk) 03:02, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that your changes were made in good faith, but restructuring an article with short-paragraph sections and single-sentence paragraphs disrupts the flow of the prose. If you have an issue with the way I structured it, please make your points at the talk page. Dan56 (talk) 00:47, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Let's discuss on the talk page. I merged the short paragraph when undoing your revert. The prose might have been "flowing", but it just didn't explain anything about the meme. It flows now too. -00:52, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

I just removed a dozen videos and a half a dozen covers from this article--that amount of "information" for an article on a single, and not a very notable one at that, is beyond ridiculous. Please don't confuse Wikipedia with MySpace. If you wish to maintain such detailed fan articles, consider Wikia. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 01:47, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

I took a few minutes to go over your spat with User:Drmies. After that, I did you a favour and removed your last 2 additions to the closed ANI report. You have been told by more than one person exactly why what you're doing is wrong on this project. Admins are required to enforce what wikipedia is for ... complaining otherwise as vociferously as you will not end well. If you truly think you wish to ignore the rules others have provided, and believe the admin has misused their admin powers, then file an WP:RFC/ADMIN. However, anywhere you go, the community will reinforce the fact that it's YOU who are breaking the rules, and will typically side with the person who is enforcing them correctly whether or not its an admin (✉→BWilkins←✎) 10:06, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • That was not the first time Drmies did things like that. And he replies like this, for example: User talk:Drmies/Archive 44#T-ara, which doesn't look like a constructive discussion. I did not ignore the rules. There are plenty of articles with more than one cover in it. I also don't destroy articles simply to demonstrate that I can. This edit was made when the discussion was ongoing and it was not policy-based. This is what I got for trying to converse with him. --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:13, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anything unconstructive in the discussion: rather matter-of-fact and certainly not proof of vandalism or bad faith by them. The edit you linked to above was 100% common-sense AND policy based - I cannot fathom you cannot ascertain that. Oh, and yes, the level of bastardization of Poke-mon related articles by fans wanting to include every tiny piece of crap information is tedious(✉→BWilkins←✎) 12:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see what was based on any policy there. He just removed the Background section, the tracklists, the lists of members who performed the songs, and the external links to the official profiles at the record label website. It may well look like an intentional destruction of the article. Another user already asked him about that: [6], let's see what Drmies has to say. --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:51, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Compare "before" to "after". Before: a good stub, all the info in the Background section is sourced. After: something that looks like desinformation. --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:51, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • It seems like K-pop is to the music project what Tennis is to the sports project - the particular branch where a bunch of pointless information is added to articles, and completely pointless articles are created. You can have a million reliable sources for an edit, but I suggest you read things like WP:FANCRUFT/WP:LISTCRUFT, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS and WP:ISNOT to realize that the edit may still be inappropriate. The English Wiki, as has been noted by many other people, is a lot more stringent than other Wikis, and promotional fluff has no place here - and rightly so. Lukeno94 (talk) 14:19, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Tracklistings and the information about who sings what can't be promotional, it's essential information for every release. I think tracklists are even necessary per WP:Albums guidelines. Drmies has created some articles like that too, I suggest you delete the Personnel and Track listing sections from here: Uniko (album), Kronos Quartet (album), Kronos Quartet Performs Alfred Schnittke: The Complete String Quartets. There is a lot of unnecessary information. I don't need it, do you? Let's delete it. The tracklists and the lists of personnel are unsourced, too. AKB48 articles were much better. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:55, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Version 2 of that article is awesome! Compare to the simplicity of Pilot of the Airwaves - a song that's been around for decades with a significant history and multiple re-releases (✉→BWilkins←✎) 14:47, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But the version 2 is a lie. There were several versions with different tracklists. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:55, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So? One merely adds a sentence to state that. The order is not important, and unless there's an additional NOTABLE track, it's irrelavent - certainly not considered a "lie" by any stretch of the word (✉→BWilkins←✎) 15:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can't believe what you've just said. Do you think that every track in every tracklist in Wikipedia is notable? And why should I add a sentence if I can just make a list as on every other page about a CD single? Or maybe, track and personnel lists are not allowed exclusively in AKB48 articles? There are no rules like that. And no rules like if a list is too long, it's not allowed. There were absolutely normal lists in AKB48 articles, nothing was against the rules. --Moscow Connection (talk) 16:22, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is a rule: Wikipedia:NOTEVERYTHING. When track lists and members lists and external links and links to videos and alternate covers and templates take up 90% of an article, then it's too much. Common sense. There is nothing to read in such an article. Drmies (talk) 20:25, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You all must understand that most articles about J-pop and K-pop that are being created in the English Wikipedia are about the top acts in their countries. You can't compare them with a person who ranked in the United States at the bottom of Billboard Hot 100. Look at this deletion discussion, for example. Drmies proposed the article for deletion, and suddenly the single happened to be the 13th best-selling single in Japan in 2012. "Manatsu no Sounds Good!" is simply the best selling single of 2012. There are so many barely notable songs on Wikipedia, but surely, you all had to pick on this one. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:50, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Stop ignoring what people say. No one is questioning the notability of all of these artists, songs etc, but people are rightly pointing out that there is an absolutely absurd amount of information being added into K-pop and J-pop articles, or that they're just complete messes, when the right place is in between. Take Loud (Rihanna album) for example. It's a good article, and it has a sentence or two on each song, a little more for the more notable songs. Everything is well formatted, and well layed out. Now let's go to, say, Koko ni Ita Koto. The track listing is an utter mess, information is missing left, right, and centre. Let's look at the Virginity song. Drmies was absolutely correct to propose it for deletion: yes, it charted, and yes, it charted highly. But the version he proposed for deletion failed WP:NSONG as it contained NOTHING about the song whatsoever, in terms of information. Even now, as it stands, it STILL violates WP:NSONG, as there's basically nothing other than lists in the article, although the AfD has probably shown that it can be made to pass that guideline. Track lists are necessary; however, anything that is not in the main release should be collapsed, and they should have some vague efforts at formatting them. Drmies' edit to Manatsu no Sounds Good! was not perfect, I do think he cut a bit too much, but some of the sections, such as the background section, were clearly written with promotional fluff, and some were just total messes, like the Members section. Lukeno94 (talk) 17:38, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for actually making my point for me: the song itself is notable, the half-dozen separate releases of it with different tracklists, etc is not notable. Thanks for setting us all straight, now please continue with editing properly (✉→BWilkins←✎) 17:40, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The song was released like it was released, all the releases were simultaneous and all the releases are notable. Sorry, it looks like someone does not understand anything about the Japanese music industry, the industry that was No. 2 in the world the last time I checked, and doesn't want to understand. They sell so well exactly because their marketing tactics is very advanced, you haven't heard about it in your countries. Again, it is not only a song, it is a single, a physical CD single, a physical product. The article about the single has to have a track list and a personnel list. The single became the best-selling single of the year in Japan. This happened because there were many versions, because many girls participated, and because there were voting tickets included. And please, it you are going to make the same comments all over again, can we just stop? The discussion is not going anywhere. I will better explain it do Drmies when I am in the mood, I think his comments are much more constructive. --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:20, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've given the releases appropriate weight on the article with a prose paragraph. The tracklists are highlighting just the differences. Notes can be added regarding their promotional tactics (voting tickets, different girls or subgroups singing, also is the promotional tactic unique to AKB48 or typical of the industry) although whether they are "advanced" or "successful" is opinion unless it is backed up by the appropriate references. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:55, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I looked at it. Thank you! The release section explaining the differences in editions in prose is nice. And it was clever to use the King Records profiles as references. And the catalog numbers, I never knew where to put them. (By the way, I don't really like how Ryulong used "collapsed=yes" option for CDs. I think only DVDs should be collapsed. But the most important thing is that he put the complete tracklists back and came with a way to make them shorter.) By the way, we can also add the lists of members in prose. Like Natalie did for "Virginity": [7]. --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:24, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kana

Are you not the same Moscowconnection wrote a highly articulate series of posts arguing against the use of kana at WT:WikiProject_Japan/Archive/May_2012? I thought we resolved this issue a long time ago. What is going on here? Did the kana pod come by and take away the real Moscowconnection? Kauffner (talk) 12:10, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion did not end in any decision. I don't think it's correct to just go and remove the kana without discussing with Ryulong first. Also, since then I've found a couple of examples when the group was referred to as simply "キュート". And, by the way, you changed many other things in your edit too. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 04:48, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you deleting stuff from MCZ's wiki page? (Music Videos, DVD's, Nippon Egao hyakkei single?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MomoiroCloverZ (talkcontribs) 02:18, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • 1. Read this: Template:Did you know nominations/Momoiro Clover Z. It would be nice if you added something to the article too, some clever text. It would help the nomination and it would make the article better. 2. I moved everything to Momoiro Clover Z discography, it will be much safer there. The single released as Momoclo Tei Ichimon is also on the discography page, but I thought it was a bit out of place in the very short table that was left in the main article. For example, Morning Musume also released a single under a different name, and it is not even on the list of their singles. I think it's better like this. 3. I removed the slogans cause they were unsourced. It was necessary for the "Did you know" nomination. If you find reliable sources for everything, including the reasons the slogans were chosen, I will add them back. --Moscow Connection (talk) 04:50, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article is quite random, I'm struggling to rewrite it. It would be nice if you helped by adding more important moments to the history of the group, and also by adding more general sentences about the group, its musical style, etc. to the Overview section. But it should be sourced. --Moscow Connection (talk) 05:04, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could you read the entire article and correct the language? Basically, you can do whatever you want, rewrite any sentence however you want. Cause 1. I wrote it in a hurry. 2. I'm looking at it and this is not how I left it about a week ago cause other people changed it. 3. Whatever you do won't make it any worse or less recorgnizable to me. 4. The whole article needs some kind of idea, currently it is just a collection of random facts. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:22, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 member chart

I started reorganizing the Team A roster at User:AngusWOOF/sandbox. If that format looks good then I can cut that in. Still unclear whether we need the election ranks but that can be discussed on the talk page. -AngusWOOF (talk) 20:25, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I placed a copy of my rewrite of the Concept and Membership section in my User:AngusWOOF/sandbox. Please review that and mark it up with clarifies. I don't see where anything there is majorly wrong, but I have removed the stuff about counting Senbatsu members as the rules change for every election and tournament. Waiting Girls and added citation needed for the other election singles that needed referencing. I also updated the member count per the official site which DOES count Kenkyusei as members. The "research students" term is used in Yahoo and other media references. There is no more Team 4; they disbanded according to the calendar. Kenkyusei still fit the definition of understudy; I really don't think that needs to be described in detail beyond that term. -AngusWOOF (talk) 06:12, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Momoiro Clover Z

Hello! Your submission of Momoiro Clover Z at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Thank you very much! I will make the tone less promotional. I will reply on the nomination page after I've done it cause it is too long already. --Moscow Connection (talk) 21:13, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've rereviewed the article.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 09:54, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I approved your article earlier today. I think it's encyclopedic enough as of now. I have a few recommendations to make, though, in case you want to get this article further than DYK:
  • "Overall, the group and its music has been noted as progressive and forward-thinking." <-- No reference at all
  • "Momoiro Clover Z loosely parodies Japanese sentai (costumed superhero) shows and themes." <-- not supported by reference
  • "The band is proving the theme song" <-- the band is what?
—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 15:37, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The source is at the end of the paragraph, it says "Despite sticking out on the bill, Momoiro’s intricate J-pop fit in well at a festival full of similar forward-thinking acts." There was another source, this one, it says "Even if you think the result sounds horrible, it is progressive in its own way, and the idols that get the most attention from the experimental fringes tend to be the more musically ambitious ones." I'll add it back now.
  • The source says "The first, "Z Densetsu~Owarinaki Kakumei~" (Z legend, never-ending revolution), is a light-hearted squadron-hero parody." But I will add another reference from the article about the single ("Z Densetsu: Owarinaki Kakumei").
  • The band is "providing". It wasn't me who wrote the sentence.

Template:Hello! Project!

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I know little information about Hello Project nowadays. I based the template off of its Japanese counterpart... well, somewhat. I guess we can put S/mileage under Current Groups. What do you think? And yeah, I actually find the template bulky with all the former/current subgroups as well. I guess we'll be able to improve it in the future. Eugh jei Kaorin 13:25, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, now I understand why you placed S/mileage and Hello! Project Kids and Ice Creamusume and Francis & Aiko in the Kenshusei section. (Bacause you don't follow Hello! Project lately. :D) Sure, we should improve it basing on the one from the Japanese Wikipedia. It is just that it is so big that it will take a long time. Your version has some very good ideas. --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The new version's better. :D The only problem, I think, is Mitsui's name not being on it as Hello! Project's sole soloist. Wikipedia readers might question it. For me, it's okay since she hasn't released anything yet. I think the real question is will she release anything. :3 Eugh jei Kaorin 23:26, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's why I deleted her. Because she hasn't released anything. She has been listed as a solo artist for a very long time now and nothing has happened. Also, there's only her, so she would look better in a section named something like "Other acts" (meaning "Current groups and solo artists"), together with Buono!, etc. By the way, where is she listed as a solo artist under Hello! Project? I don't even know. --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:39, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, she's here: [8]. It was easy, I just never looked. I will add her now. --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:42, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Eugh jei Kaorin 00:05, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You can do whatever you want with the template. I just wanted to fix some mistakes, that's all. Whatever you do, the template can't possibly become worse than now. :) There are too many inactive acts, I can't think of a system to make the list less incomprehensible. You have improved it a lot already, I don't want to stop you. --Moscow Connection (talk) 00:13, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Of course! Will do. Eugh jei Kaorin 08:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments in the image discussion

Everything after "I don't really want to discuss any editor personally" is completely irrelevant (who cares what edits they've made on other wikis?) and inappropriate. I strongly usge you to delete that entire portion of your remarks. LadyofShalott 01:53, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't like it when I wrote it and looked at the preview, but decided to post it cause, as you can see, the post I replied to starts with "Recently, the user Moscowconnection don't want to replace the main picture." and it's like it discusses me personally, like if I did something wrong. But sure, I deleted it immediately. As I said, I didn't think it looked good and appropriate myself. But I decided it was relevant to the discussion after all, cause the discussion was about me. --Moscow Connection (talk) 02:06, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I the discussion opens with comments about your edits not about you, but I think you were edging over the line to commenting about the other editor in analysing their edits across multiple wikis. Anyway, thank you again for removing them. LadyofShalott 02:10, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. You helped to delete something that I would have regretted later. I commented on the edits in other wikis because I have the Japanese Wikipedia article in my watch list. And I am the one who created the article in Spanish. So it's natural that I saw everything. I reverted only in the English Wikipedia, by the way. --Moscow Connection (talk) 02:27, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages

This may sound dumb, but how do I create a brand new page? Is there a short tutorial somewhere online I can glance at? I don't need or want to create a new page right now, but I may want to at some point in the future. I was thinking about fleshing out wiki's Japanese dramas/movies section (it's woefully lacking, asianwiki.com is much more thorough). Anyway, thanks for stopping by and saying hello! I'm just starting to get wiki figured out, you'll probably see me around. Oh, and don't be afraid to call me on my mistakes, you won't hurt my feelings. :) GrapperJ (talk) 06:49, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's not dumb. :D I think "they" made it intentionally hard to find a way to do it.
First, you need to be logged in. Then, you need to find yourself at the address where you want to create a page.
I use Method 1, sometimes 2 or 3.
  1. Search for something using the searchbox in the top right corner. For example, for "Fairies vs. Ninjas". Wikipedia will say «You may create the page "Fairies vs. Ninjas", but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered.» Click on the red link "Fairies vs. Ninjas". An edit box will open.
  2. Or, you can just type "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairies_vs._Ninjas" or "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairies vs. Ninjas" in the address bar. You'll see a page saying «Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name.» and there will be a "Create" button in a corner.
  3. Open any Wikipedia article, write "[[Fairies vs. Ninjas]]". Don't click "Save page", click the "Show preview" button. You'll see a red link to "Fairies vs. Ninjas". Click it and there will be the same page with a "Create" button as described in Method 2.
  4. This may come handy: Wikipedia:Starting an article.
By the way, I'm not sure there aren't other ways to do it. Like, some button I have never seen. It would be funny if there actually was a button for creating a new page with any title and I didn't know it. --Moscow Connection (talk) 17:13, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 election table wording

Hiya, can you check the wording on the lead sentence for AKB48#Members, and make corrections onto the footnote if I interpreted the chart incorrectly? -AngusWOOF (talk) 16:26, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can't do it now. I missed the first half of the live broadcast of the election, so I don't want to read the table until I watch a recording of it. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:44, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I'll paste it here:

(Names are arranged in gojuon order, as appearing on the official website, and include ranks (footnote) from each of the annual general elections starting from 2009.)

footnote: In the annual general election, the candidates are ranked 1-64 or x. A grey space in the table means the member was not a candidate for the election.

Koi Suru merge

Hi, I have submitted some merge requests for various AKB48 song covers done by the sister groups such as "Koi Suru Fortune Cookie" with "Fortune Cookie Yang Mencinta (JKT48 song)". If you can chime in on Talk:Koi Suru Fortune Cookie that would be great. This will likely affect other covers such as "River (AKB48 song)" and "Heavy Rotation (song)" Will try to preserve as much data about each single as we can, including the personnel for the covers. Thanks. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:58, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 discography music videos

For the AKB48 discography music videos section, I recommend removing the album and no. reference, so that it just lists the video, director, performance group if it lists a title other than AKB48, and then add a column for notes and references, as with Beyoncé_Knowles_videography#List_of_music_videos. The music video can always be linked back to the appropriate singles articles. Notes can be used for video charting or details like the large number of extras for Koi Suru, or how that sister group made 63 different versions of the same music video and set a Guinness World Record as a result. -AngusWOOF (talk) 14:45, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it's a good idea to remove the single titles, leaving just the numbers. Especially since the first track is the title track. But I'm against removing the numbers cause I think it's important to group all the videos like that. And surely, if some song is not listed as a song by a team of a subgroup/unit, it's not necessary to repeat "AKB48, AKB48" every time. It's okay to add a notes section, but I think we should try to write just one comment for every single and use a lots of <br />s to make the table narrower. --Moscow Connection (talk) 16:57, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 on Spotify

AKB48 has some songs on Spotify now - some of their more recent stuff from Manatsu no Sounds Good! to Koi Suru Fortune Cookie. -AngusWOOF (talk) 22:41, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. It's an online way to listen to the songs and support the bands. I added some track lengths based on what they listed there; it might be off by a second depending on what list to view (webpage for spotify instead of what's in spotify itself). I also listened to the off vocal versions on some of the tracks, and they have no backing vocals whatsoever, so can remove any specific off-vocal tracks where they explicitly credit lyrics to Akimoto. -AngusWOOF (talk) 19:15, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think the only right place to find track lengths is the CDs. So we should better trust the Japanese Wikipedia and just copy all track lengths from there.
By the way, since you are here... :))) In the tables you created for all the AKB48 members, there's a column named "role". I think it's rather misleading, cause I don't think there's such thing as a "main role". If you mean "media sembatsu", write "media sembatsu". If you mean "main vocals" (like, the ones who have solo parts), write "main vocals". If you mean the front row of 5 or 7 singers or something, then better write a fan name for that. I understand that a research would be needed for each single to do that, so probably the easiest way is to write "A-side" the same way you wrote "B-side". (And maybe you did mean "A-side", I didn't think about that. :)) --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:52, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding track lengths, yes, the best would be the CD cover or insert if available; I can leave a comment in each section where it refers to it as source (cover insert, Japanese wikipedia, iTunes/Spotify/music service). For Role, I treat it like a filmography of whether they participated on the title track and whether they are the center. I'm good with calling that "A-side" I don't want to dive into the original research assignments like "right of center in front row" or "centers for Team B when they perform this live" or "solos the second verse of the second stanza" or "the girl with the green hat, solos in video" stuff, etc. -AngusWOOF (talk) 14:28, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've just redirected "Off vocal" to "Backing track". I found the right word for this a long time ago, but forgot to redirect. That's what it is, a backing track, not a karaoke version. There are no backing vocals probably because there are no backing vocals on AKB48 songs. :) But I'm not sure. As I said earlier, there was something that sounded like vocals, but in fact was synthesized. --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:58, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"Off-vocal" probably means "without all vocals". But I said, I'm not sure there are backing vocals on AKB48 songs. --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:50, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. It looks like "Off vocal" redirects to "backing track" here anyway :) The off vocals I've heard so far (Eien Pressure, Koi suru) don't have backing vocals; I can listen to the others. -AngusWOOF (talk) 14:28, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You are doing a good work with all these pages. :) The "Role" column still looks a bit strange, but I don't really know how to do it better. Everythhing looks nice, there's a lot of useful info now. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:49, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • My edits were perfectly correct. I understand that the title didn't look right, but you actually reverted to an incorrect version (cause someone changed Suzuka Nakamoto's birth date and I changed it back).
In short, in my 3 edits you reverted:
    1. I reverted Suzuka Nakamoto's birth date to the correct one.
    2. I added a link to a newly created article about Suzuka Nakamoto.
    3. I changed the romanization of the title "ヘドバンギャー!!" to the way it is officially written by the band (see this). "ヘドバンギャー!!" is not "Headbanger!!". They wrote the word differently in Japanese (longer, cuter sounding last syllable) and they also write it differently in English. ("Headbanger!!" would be "ヘドバンガー!!".) --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:33, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moscow,

It was pointed out a while about about using YouTube links on external link sections. See Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided. It was already decided not to use them on Eurovision-related articles to avoid potential copyright violations. Wes Mᴥuse 14:17, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You were even told 18 months ago by an administrator, not to add YouTube links to external sections. Need I say more! Wes Mᴥuse 14:22, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm very sorry I've just reverted your revert. You see, it is not forbidden to add YouTube links if they are official. I didn't say anything yesterday cause the article about JESC 2013 didn't have the links to start with. According to Wikipedia guidelines, you had every right to revert me on the page that didn't have the links before I came. I had to start a discussion on the talk page to put the links back.
I would really hope that you let me add the links cause I think we all are interested in helping people to know more about Eurovision song contests. One picture is worth a thousand words. Adding links like this is natural. If paper encyclopedias could contain complete texts of everything, complete videos depicting all the events in the history of mankind, I am sure they would print them all too. We, here in the Internet, have this opportunity, and we should link Wikipedia to everything, to all the sites containing more knowledge about the events. I like tables and videos because they are either easier to comprehend or contain more information than any text in a Wikipedia article could ever contain.

I see some red squares again. Probably you reverted me again or posted on my talk page. I have to go now, but I will revert you back until the community of Wikipedia editors comes to some sort of consensus to remove the links. Sorry.

Just think, would it be better if the readers could just watch the complete event instead of reading all these (horrible) articles? (My articles are horrible, I know it.) I personally think that I would prefer a YouTube link to the whole article about JESC 2013.

As for your invitation to join the Eurovision Project... You see, my interest in Eurovision is occasional. And all my interest in Wikipedia is occasional lately too... I can't really... I'm still here on Wikipedia cause sometimes I see something that I want people to know about, so I return to add an article about it to Wikipedia... Now I think I probably shouldn't have returned to the English Wikipedia again... I really don't understand why people insist like this and revert me... Were these links useful? They certainly were. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:42, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moscow, I've moved your post from my talk page to here. It does show on my talk page edit notice to respond on the talk page that I have made the thread, saves me having to go back and forth to keep track on a single conversation. Wes Mᴥuse 14:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly they are forbidden if used for external linking purposes. They can be used for citations within a prose, but not as an external link. It is because they are classified as promotional material, and wikipedia is not for promotional material. An admin told you 18 months ago about this, and you acknowledged them. So why now have you decided to disregard their advice? The links themselves contain adverts, which is against policy. The YouTube channel you linked belongs to the EBU, and they are very strict when it come to copyright violating. Believe me, I was forced to take a YT link off my own Facebook page that I linked from Eurovision Channel, and I was not impressed when the EBU threatened to take legal action against me. Do you really think the Wikipedia bosses would be overly pleased if they got threatened by the EBU for having a link which you posted? Who do you think they'd come chasing after first? I'm only watching your back at the end of the day, as you are a good editor. I'd hate to see you get in trouble over a YT link. If people want to view YT then they are capable of doing so themselves, we're not here to hold viewers hands. We're here to provide research material. Let's stick to the sole purpose of Wikipedia shall we.
It isn't a case of what you like, it is what the Wikipedia community has imposed. Wikipedia is not here to be linking to every god forsaken site via external links. There is a limitation as well as common sense on what we can and cannot link. That's why there are policies that explicitly state this. Threatening to keep reverting will only result in your account getting blocked for exceeding WP:3RR, and they can range from 24 hours up to 3 months or more. Do you really want to have your editing privileges stopped just for the sake of "making something prettier because that's how you want it"? C'mon, time to be proper and grown up here. Wikipedia is for providing written material, use YouTube in citations, but not for the sake of giving someone a place to go watch the music video, or full replay of the contest. Fans already know where to go to find that stuff, and they would not be coming here first to look for it. Wes Mᴥuse 14:54, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also you said that you'd keep reverting me until the community of Wikipedia editors comes to some sort of consensus to remove the links. Sorry my friend, but they already have, 4 years ago, 3 years ago, and 2 months ago at admin noticeboard. According to the admins music videos used in external links are a serious violation of WP:NOTDIRECTORY. So best to avoid them as externals. Used as a reference to cite a prose text within the article though is permitted. As your method does not do this, then they cannot be used. Wes Mᴥuse 15:15, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Thank you for not reverting me and writing here instead! I've just wrote to you too: User talk:Wesley Mouse#Reverts. I am very sorry, but since there are no copyright violations here, then there's nothing to avoid. :) As I can remember, the admin didn't say that there could be no links at all. Drmies just said that adding too many links was ridiculous. I agree that I overdid it back then. I personally think that having a couple of links is okay. --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:22, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Could you show me where it was decided that Eurovision-related articles can't contain any links to YouTube? If there was such a decision, I will obey. (I would have to start a new discussion about it and so on, but I don't care about Eurovision-related articles enough to do it...) It would be easier for me just to surrender. I wonder why some editors are so persistent in small matters like this one... --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:22, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) These's some other red square. Sorry, I have to go now... As for joining the Eurovision Project... Thank you for you invitation, but I can't... I would really prefer just to create new articles occasionally... It is very sad that just when it seemed that we two could work together, there appeared some other matter you felt very strong about, strong enough to revert me several times in a row... Remember, Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle... You reverted two or three times (including another article). --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:22, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have to go now... There's too much text and my phone is ringing and my edit page is too large to load fast... --Moscow Connection (talk) 15:22, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you even know how Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle works? I removed the YT links explaining why. You then reverted them back. I then did Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle, which is what created this thread. What you should have done was to engage in discussion, not revert things back again, and thus put yourself into WP:3RR territory. Really, I should be going to WP:ANI now and reporting 3RR violations, but I ma assuming good faith in that you were not fully aware of how WP:BRD works. I have provided above 3 archived discussion from the Admin Noticeboards, which all show that YouTube links are only allowed if used in the main article prose as at {{cite web}}. They cannot be used in the external links for the sake of providing readers navigational access to re-watch the contest or segments of the contest again. If fans wants to do that,k they would go to those pages directly first, before even coming here. We are not the directory, we are the encyclopaedia. Google is the directory, YouTube is the directory. Wes Mᴥuse 15:32, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since you reverted me again, theatened me with WP:ANI (what for, who reverted who first and how many times?), notified Drmies saying that I was the one who dragged him into this discussion (if it was me, then what is the link saying "18 months ago" doing there, on top of this discussion?), etc., then let's stop this, okay? Please... I don't agree with you and I think there isn't much logic in what you say about violating copyright (the videos are uploaded by the European Broadcasting Union)... But who cares... Okay? (I didn't want to reply at all, but I thought someone might read this thread and think that I did something wrong... Please don't be angry if I don't reply... My plans were to go away for some time...) --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:37, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hold it there for one second. As I pointed out above, I did bold, revert, discuss. It was you who failed to follow on with the "discuss", by reverting for a second time. That was wrong of you to do for starters, and made it look as if you were trying to prove a point because things were not being done to your liking. I never threatened you with ANI. If you read again, I said I should have done (which is what you'll find most people would have done) but I chose not to as I assumed good faith in the fact that you may have misunderstood WP:BRD. So that was not a threat at all. If it were to be a threat, then I would not have informed you about it, I would have just done it. I never mentioned Drmies first, I mentioned the discussion regarding this matter which took place 18 months ago, and that is clear in the fact that I linked to that discussion and used the term "18 months ago". It was you who mentioned Drmies, directly by name - thus you dragged him in this for no reason. And you don't have to agree with me. I have provided you with guidance links as well as links to previous discussion regarding YouTUbe links, that have taken place at the administration noticeboard. You made reference to the fact that you would willingly engage in edit warring until an admin told you that YouTube links are not allowed. That in itself is a threat made by you. I gave links to discussions which shown admins clearly stating that YouTube links are only allowed in citations, and not as external links. I read all those old discussions and they all say the same thing, that they breach what Wikipedia is not, they go against WP:NOTDIRECTORY, and as was pointed out 18 months ago, they also constitute promotional material. The primary objective here is to provide articles that are neutral, and of educational content. A video link of a contest replay is not educational, it is entertainment. Fans would not visit Wikipedia first to solely find a YouTube link to a contest replay. That is common logic. A fan has sense to go to the YouTube website directly to find such videos. By putting the links on here, you are insulting the intelligence of the fans, by saying they have not got the brains to look on YouTube first. The articles alone describe the content as it is. They don't need video links for cosmetic and/or padding purposes. And that is the point that you seem to fail to grasp. If I had not removed the links, then it would only have been a matter of time before someone on the project did, as they all know the guidance about YouTube links being added to the external links section. Your actions are basically insulting their intelligence, not mine. Wes Mᴥuse 18:56, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You provided many links and there are many people saying different things in different situations. If the videos were so easy to find, why do these official uploads have much less views than other, illegally uploaded, ones? I think you would actually helped fight piracy by providing the only legitimate links. But okay, I understand your position, let's not argue anymore... I have left the Eurovision-related pages for now... --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(off-topic) Just look at these vids. The picture is worth 1 billion words. You can't possibly describe it in words. :) It is just not possible to see this and not add a link. Don't you like to share with people?
  1. Barbara -Ohrid i muzika (FYR Macedonia) Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - YouTube
  2. Barbara Popović - Ohrid i muzika (F.Y.R. Macedonia) - LIVE - Junior 2013 - YouTube.
She needs an article. How will the article be without these links?
But okay. Please let's stop now... I'm sorry if you thought I wasn't polite... --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure what y'all are talking about, which articles in which links. I have interacted with Moscow Connection over various things including video links, but in the context of K-pop articles. We have guidelines and policies, of course, but before that we have common sense and editorial practice, not to mention context: what is fine in one article may not be fine in another, and a lot depends on the function of the link and the content and author of the video in question. Moscow Connection was nice enough to ping me in one of their comments, by the way, so notifying me wasn't necessary and, at any rate, I don't feel "dragged" into anything. Let me add also that I don't believe I have acted toward Moscow Connection in my capacity as an administrator, only as an editor. Without specific context, I have to assume that the business of these video links is an editorial matter possibly containing interpretation of a guideline, and not primarily some kind of violation, so a. I don't feel the need to put on my admin hat and b. whatever I told Moscow Connection earlier was not (if memory serves me right) some kind of administrative edict. In other words, my comments carry no particular special force, outside perhaps that of an editor with some experience here. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 22:09, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's all this "a picture speaks a million words" fiasco. 1. it is video, not a picture. 2. this is an encyclopaedia using primarily written prose, not a YouTube directory, and 3. there's such thing as a script which actually does describe what happened in a video performance (so words do in fact describe the video). And for the fact that you have said the links are there to help guide a reader to YT to watch the performances again, does not serve as an encyclopaedic point of view. It just makes it look like we're hosting YT links just for the sake of cosmetic purposes. Like I keep saying, if someone is purposely going looking for a YouTube link, then they would visit YouTube first, not here. A person's intellect is not that stupid that they'd come to Wikipedia first to search for a YT link. People visit Wikipedia to research on whatever it is they are researching. Just like people visit YouTUbe to purposely search for videos. To put into a different perspective; would you go to YouTube and search for a Wikipedia article? No, you'd come here to do that. So I see no purpose for us to be using YT clips in the external sections just to highlight a replay of a contest or a replay of a song. If we started to put these videos on every Eurovision/Junior Eurovision, then it would turn us into some sort of YouTube directory, especially when there's well over 1000 entries combined. A limit has to be drawn, so it would be better to have none, than over a 1000. Wes Mᴥuse 00:45, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And on another aspect, it is not our responsibility as Wikipedian editors to be tackling YouTube's piracy issues. That is their job to do. Would you expect the bosses at YouTube to start tackling our vandalism edits or start blocking people on Wikipedia? No, you wouldn't. You asked "If the videos were so easy to find, why do these official uploads have much less views than other, illegally uploaded, ones?" - the answer is simple. It all depends on what keywords the individual inputs to find what it is they are looking for. And then it is their choice which video from the search results they wish to view. Just because official uploads get fewer views than unofficial ones has nothing to do with it. It is down to human choice. To put it another way, you had to visit YouTube and input what it was you were looking for, in order to link it on here... correct? So answer vthis, what was it that made you click on a particular video link to view? I know now why, it was because that was your personal choice to click on a particular link, as is the case for other people in the world who visit YouTube, they click on what catches their eye the most. So if you could find the video on YouTube, then I'm 99.9% sure the rest of the human race is capable of doing the same. We're not here to hold their hands, we're here to write up articles for educational purposes. And then you say "(off-topic) Just look at these vids. The picture is worth 1 billion words. You can't possibly describe it in words. :) It is just not possible to see this and not add a link. Don't you like to share with people?". Not quite "off-topic" to be fair, was it? Videos are not there to write up articles for educational purposes (see WP:NOTPLOT). We're suppose to write articles based on written sources. It is very possible to see a video and not add a link. I watch hundreds of music videos on YouTube, and I don't link everything I view just to highlight to other what I have viewed. Not everyone is interested in that, if they were interested they'd have looked up the video themselves. You asked do I like to share with people? Yes I do, but there is a place to do the sharing, and that's social media. This isn't social media, this is a research factory. Wes Mᴥuse 03:28, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The other day you asked "Could you show me where it was decided that Eurovision-related articles can't contain any links to YouTube? If there was such a decision, I will obey.", although you further added "(I would have to start a new discussion about it and so on, but I don't care about Eurovision-related articles enough to do it...)" which implies that you were not going to obey even if a decision to omit YT links was agreed. The second bullet-point of this project discussion which reads "Link to the Eurovision.tv website should be enough. Allowing in fansites is just going to open the flood gates and is more trouble than its worth. Many videos on YouTube are copyvios and those should not be linked to per WP:YT. CT Cooper · talk 3:24 pm, 30 May 2012, Wednesday (1 year, 6 months, 6 days ago) (UTC+1)". There is the decision not to have YT links in the external section. And that I believe concludes this debate. Happy editing! Wes Mᴥuse 06:44, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Japanverse

This source appears to be a webzine, and as such would by definition fail WP:RS by a country mile. Please do not use it as a source for anything. Similarly, adding Youtube links to band articles has long contravened WP:EL. Please don't. That is what Google, or indeed Youtube, are for. We are supposed to be an encyclopedia, not advertising space. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 20:07, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you find something that passes WP:RS for the death metal claim, that's fine. The edit commentary "they say they are death metal, so they are death metal" is roughly the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. That is absolutely the antithesis of how WP works. make sure your reliable source is independent and printed in some professional source, preferably print. Webzines totally fail the criteria, so if using an online source it has to be one that has elsewhere been published by an independent, third-party professional body (hence we allow Allmusic and MusicMight, but not Metal Archives or Japanverse). Repeated additions to the list articles without such sources will be considered vandalism. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 20:19, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a source for one of their songs, called "BABYMETAL DEATH", being of the death metal genre.
Talking of vandalism, I'm sorry, but the way you tagged a group that had a couple of top ten hits with a notability tag may well be considered vandalism. :D
I will add more sources shortly. (Allmusic is not very professional, by the way. As for Babymetal, Babymetal had several releases reviewed by Rolling Stone (Rolling Stone Japan, to be exact). I'm sure the same can't be said about 99 percent of death metal groups in the list where you removed them from.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:37, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Reviews in Rolling Stone: [9], [10]. They gave them 4 out of 5 for "Ijime, Dame, Zettai". They are the future of death metal. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:42, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a nice English-language source for other genres: [11]. Barks (ja) is a reliable music news site. There have been plenty of articles about them in the Japanese media, they are very popular. I can find some more if it is needed. But I think it's enough.
As for the song "BABYMETAL DEATH" being death metal, it is also said here, for example: [12]. ("デスメタルナンバー" means "death metal number", search for it.) I couldn't find any source for "melodic death metal", though. I reverted that edit of yours simply because there was no edit summary and at the first glance it looked like your purpose was simply to eradicate all memory of Babymetal (and some other bands you removed from the list in the same edit). --Moscow Connection (talk) 21:31, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Another source in case you didn't see me adding it. German Metal Hammer said their music was a mix of Japanese pop and death metal: [13]. --Moscow Connection (talk) 22:15, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Errors on 30 December

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:31, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AKB48 tables

Please do not blindly revert to restore content that actually is on the article presently. Your edit removed every single improvement to formatting (removal of birth prefectures, conversion of {{birth date}} to {{birth date and age}}) that the talk page thought was beneficial. I only removed the table for the kenkyusei in my recent edits. It's pointless for them because they have no votes.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 19:19, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For fucks sake stop reverting me. The version I've produced is actually liked by people on the talk page. They are all in agreement that the prefecture information is pointless. Stop reverting. Stop breaking everything that I fixed in the older versions. There were so many god damn malformed dates of birth in there. There were abbreviated ones, ones that weren't provided in the proper formatting, and names that were just written wrong. I have been actively discussing the edits on the talk page. You have not. This is the new consensus version. Stop reverting me and discuss shit on the talk page now.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 13:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Then just remove the prefectures. It will take less time than fixing after you. People liked the list the way it was before. I think your version is so awful that any normal person would want to destroy it immediately. It's not fair. --Moscow Connection (talk) 13:58, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There was no consensus. I don't like it. You are the one who is edit warring. --Moscow Connection (talk) 13:58, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will now fix your awful version. :) It will take ages. But I will make the tables small again. They will look as before, but without the prefectures. Please don't revert. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:02, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There are multiple people there who agree with the current state of the article, because most of the opposition is to my original complete deletion of the tables and vote information, and the discussion is currently underway as to where the vote stuff is supposed to go. My version adds the proper way to write the names of many of the members of the group where there were errors before, removes the prefectures, and adds their current ages. Simply because you think it's ugly doesn't mean you're right and I'm wrong. Stop reverting. Participate in the talk page discussion. Do not change anything because there were so many mistakes before. There were so many names written completely wrong, and at Momoiro Clover Z there is no reason to have a table just to say what color they wear, having a box of that color, and to have the Kanji of their names when each member has her own article. Please stop and discuss things on the talk pages before you do all this shit.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 14:03, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You need to realize that Wikipedia isn't your catch all idol group fansite that you seem to be turning it into. There is no need to make things "pretty" because you seem to think that these "ugly" versions of the tables aren't good or that tables are necessary to present this information.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 14:19, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not trying to turn Wikipedia into anything. For your information, the AKB48 article wasn't even on my watch list as of yesterday, before I saw the discussion on the talk page. You need to realize that there are other editors on Wikipedia and they may not agree with you and it is not nice to enforce your opinions. Check the source. It's subtitled in English. They say exactly what I put there. Don't remove sourced information just because you think it is irrelevant. The origins of the name of a band or any other subject is such a basic information, no wonder many articles at Wikipedia have sometimes entire sections covering etymology. Since when the official website of a band is the only valid source? Not everything about a topic will be in its official website, you know. That's why we have magazines, newspapers, books, etc. And how do you know they simply "decided to invent a clever story" for the name? Blabbermouth is a reliable source, but I will add a direct link to Razor TV since that's the precise source. If you're still somehow against the addition of sourced valid information, you are invited to explain your reasons at the topic I just created at the article's talk page. Let's center the discussion there. If we don't reach an agreement, I'll resource to content dispute resolution. Victão Lopes Fala! 17:19, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kanako Momota

I'm really sorry about the article. I reacted with mild shock when I saw it in the preparation area for the Main Page. I know you have put in a lot of effort into it, and it's easy for someone to just come in and criticise it to death. I can understand how you might be feeling, and I hope you will not be driven away by this minor setback. This could have been avoided if the dyk reviewer was more experienced and gave you hints to improve it, but I'm disconcerted that it seems that's not what DYK reviews are about. I have contacted one experienced editor resident in Japan who I hope could help out. Failing which, you should post on WP:JAPAN for editors familiar with the language and culture, and WP:BIOGRAPHY to better understand the job of writing biographies. AKB48 member list

Please please please copy the text into a page like your sandbox and work on it there instead of breaking the live article. My version is not missing members. You have deleted them as far as I can tell.

Also, do not remove the Hepburn romanizations, and your "floating columns" don't work.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 07:02, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My version is much less broken than yours. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:17, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I only deleted the members that were transferred overseas. (The list is incorrect anyway, it hasn't been updated in ages.) You deleted Amina Sato, for one. It is very hard to spot if there are any more members missing because of the unofficial order. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:26, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is no such thing as an "official order". The Japanese website uses the Japanese gojuon ordering. It would be the same if they had an English website and they used the English alphabetical ordering. Holy cow. But please, before you try to "fix" things on the main article in multiple edits in a row, make the proposed changes in a sandbox so it looks perfect before you institute it.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 07:52, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The Englsh version also uses the gojuon ordering. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:56, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well that's because Japan doesn't know the English alphabet. English Wikipedia. English ordering systems unless there's an established hierarchy.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 08:38, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at AKB48 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. DAJF (talk) 08:26, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I understand, I didn't violate the 3RR rule. Ryulong did. (There were 2 unconnected disputes.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 08:30, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are both edit-warring. You have been warned. I suggest you stop now. (Note that bit above in bold text that says you can still be blocked even if you don't technically violate the three-revert rule.) --DAJF (talk) 08:40, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please warn him too (cause I decided against going to admins and decided to just warn him, but he deletes my warning from his talk page.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 08:45, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OWNTALK states that I am free to remove content from my own user talk page as I wish. There is no imperative to keep that warning there. Additionally, I request that I not be given templated user warnings. Thank you. Now do not post on my user talk page again unless you require my assistance with an article and keep all discussion pertaining to improving or changing AKB48 to Talk:AKB48.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 08:47, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And again I note that you are forbidding me from editing a page when I stated my intent to incorporate the sections better. Perhaps you should read up on WP:OWN.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 08:50, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't post on my user page too. --Moscow Connection (talk) 09:01, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It may look like you want to have the right to bully me. --Moscow Connection (talk) 09:28, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Then you don't have the moral right to tell me I should stay away from yours. I will post on your talk page if I think it is necessary. --Moscow Connection (talk) 09:29, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see now that we are both edit-warring. (I didn't know it didn't have to be the same reverts. I stopped after 3 reverts to the section order and I didn't know other reverts counted cause the other matter wasn't important and Ryulong said he only reverted me because of errors in wiki formatting.) I've stopped. It's good I didn't go to admins, then. :) I probably have to thank you for your warning cause I had no idea I did something wrong. --08:55, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

I reverted that Ryulong

He should have been blocked (again!) by now since administrators placed him on 1RR, so file a report on him. might I suggest, WP:AN?

It think it would be polite from me if I didn't file a report yet. I don't really want him to be blocked. (If he was placed on 1RR, it will be easy to do it if he continues.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:47, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've started translating the titles to the citations per my suggestion. I'd just like to point out that your efforts at this point in time would be most effective if focussed at getting the content right. You are already aware that the translations may eventually be useful but are principally as a courtesy to the non-Japanese reader. What's more, until the content issue is settled, you will not know the final scope of translation effort. If eventually some content needs to be removed, you precious time and effort will have been optimised without having done unnecessary translations. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 12:06, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Thank you. (Especially since I don't have much time now.) I will go through your suggestions. I will start now, but I won't be able to finish everything today because of time shortage. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Momoiro Clover Z. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DAJF (talk) 04:09, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I did not start any war! Ryulong came and started it. Anosola reverted him too, look in the edit history. Why are you doing this again? Why don't you warn Ryulong (the one who started the edit war)?
I am the one who is writing the article, not the one who comes and just makes small annoying changes.
Please stop interfering. Do you want me off Wikipedia forever? --Moscow Connection (talk) 04:37, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned in my edit summary, please re-read Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle if you haven't already. Your bold edit was reverted by Ryulong (with a reasonable explanation), but instead of taking this to the Talk page to gain consensus, you simply reverted his edit, which constitutes WP:Edit warring, which is why I placed the warning notice above on your Talk page. If you continue to edit war in spite of the warning, you can expect to be reported. I am also a little concerned about your remarks above, such as "I am the one who is writing the article" and "Stop interfering", as these imply you wish to own the Momoiro Clover Z article, something that is not an option on a communal project like Wikipedia. In the meantime, please have a look at well-developed articles on other famous bands to see how they treat the "History" and "Discography" sections: One Direction (a "Good Article"), Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, ABBA, Atomic Kitten, to name just a small random selection. --DAJF (talk) 05:10, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle says Ryulong should stop, not me.
  1. Discography. Ryulong's bold edit was reverted by Anosola, reverted by Ryulong, reverted by me.
  2. Section order. Ryulong changed it, I reverted.
Yes, it took me a long time to react, but I have been avoiding to look at the article almost since Japanglish and Ryulong highjacked it. A month ago I only restored the table of members, I didn't read the article and therefore didn't notice the change in the section order. --Moscow Connection (talk) 13:38, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • By the way, about this: Wikipedia:Move review/Log/2014 April. Read the rules: Wikipedia:Move review. The procedure is mostly for deciding whether a nomination was closed correctly. And in this case there was no consensus and the discussiion was closed as "no consensus". I think you should keep calm and you probably shouldn't have replied to the nominator cause his latest comment was obviously POV and revealed the true reasons for the request. I think you should remove all caps in your reply. (Yes, you should probably keep an eye on the nomination, but I don't think the closure can possibly be reverted.)
I would like to draw your attention to another POV editor. (Because I'm not good at fighting and I haven't edited political aticles until recently.) Look at the edit history of this article: Eurasian Observatory for Democracy and Elections. The editor also removes references to Russia Today from everywhere: [14], [15]. Look at his contributions. He really deserves the administrators' attention. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:24, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm LiphradicusEpicus. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I must ask you to stop deleting reliably sourced information, as this is unwikipedian. You are also refusing to assume good faith and are in violation of the NPOV policy. Thank you. მაLiphradicusEpicusთე 20:33, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I would like you to keep in mind what you said to Darkness Shines about a "stable state", but regarding this article. I think that having both pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian terms is stable; if you will notice, I did not delete the part that said "accession", I simply made it an alternate title ("also called by some the accession of...."); this is to reflect the global majority-minority ratio on the topic. Probably 80% of the world...and literally every reliable English source I have seen...refers to it as "annexation"; the other 20%'s, a.k.a. "the minority's", view is reflected secondarily.
  • After altering another, unrelated user's edit to the article, it seems to be fully neutral now; as the in-page title (though awkwardly) now reflects the truest neutrality. Since you and I both are very strongly biased on opposing sides, let us compromise on the page title and formally request that the page be renamed to something such as "The Incorporation of"; and then the actual text can have the titles the way they are now. I think if we did that, it would really close out much of the dispute! Thanks. მაLiphradicusEpicusთე
  • The title has been successfully changed to "Incorporation of Crimea into the Russian Federation" with a great deal of text stating who calls the process what in the introductory paragraph! Check it out!
  • I also added 9 of your talk page references into the text for the term "accession", this way there will be an equal number of references to both terms. I think you'll really appreciate the changes! Anyway, I hope this eases up the situation! :) მაLiphradicusEpicusთე
  • This eases up the situation a lot because instead of worrying about the article I added your talk page to my watchlist and grabbed some popcorn, as I expect some admins to come and reprehend you. :) You should familiarize yourself with the rules of Wikipedia. Some of your edits just don't comply to them. Like, yesterday I had all the right to revert you cause you changed the opening paragraph so that it disagreed with the article's title. --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:38, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Would you prefer a different title, such as "Adoption" or "Reunification" instead of "Incorporation"? I would happily accept these titles too; though in my opinion, "adoption" seems a tad bit biased and I'm not sure other editors favoring "annexation" would approve of this. Let me know what's up! მაLiphradicusEpicusთე
  • I would agree to any of these titles, but currently "Reunification" would probably be too much for the English Wikipedia. :) I'm not sure which one I would prefer.
By the way, I wasn't pinged from another discussion. (Probably because you linked my talk page instead of my user page.) I will probably stay away from the discussion for a while and see how it goes. --Moscow Connection (talk) 22:06, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Censorship issues

Please take a look here WP:TALKO about removing things from talkpage. You are not jet an administrator. You should have raised the issue not taken the action yourself before. It is censorship turning back talkpage on Your own opinion. --Klõps (talk) 18:09, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've explained to you about RfC. You ruined the request by adding lenghty unsigned comments that could be suggestive to people. See your talk page: User talk:Klõps#RfC. I have also just moved my comments so that they were below yours. I think it's fair. --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:18, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok with this then. I left You a note that I didn't ruin it as it needed something different or else the discussion can go on & on & on as it had been before. Klõps (talk) 18:32, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. The thread is "Talk:Crimean status referendum, 2014#Observers and legitimacy". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 21:34, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Babymetal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page JP (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

"naite mo ii n' da yo"

First, this is just painfully incorrect romanization per WP:MOS-JA. No one puts an apostrophe after the N unless it comes before a vowel or a Y kana. Next, you are wrong in your determination of what it means. It is not an abbreviation of "no"; "n da" is the informalized "n desu" copula, and because it's such a short, it's just combined with the previous word. My only source that's Japanese that has this things name in English is Rakuten who are categorizing it as "NAITEMO IINDAYO". I think this is a good enough correction to separate the two particles. If you think this is wrong, start a move discussion because now you completely ruined any chance I had of moving it to a compromise title of "Naite mo Iin Da yo" because you had to make a billion redirects.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 08:48, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I didn't ruin anything. You ruined the chance to move it to "Naite mo Iin Da yo". I was just going to move it back to "Naite mo Ii n' Da yo" and then to "Naite mo Iin Da yo" (both times over a redirect).
Let's just tag "Naite mo Iin Da yo" with {{db-move}} to make space for the move. --Moscow Connection (talk) 08:57, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did that after I attempted to move the page myself and got an error saying that it could not be done.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 09:14, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Because an article can be moved over a redirect only if the only edit in the history of the target was redirecting it to the article that is being moved. After you saw that "Naite mo Iin Da yo" was already a redirect to "Naite mo Ii n' Da yo", you should have moved the article back to "Naite mo Ii n' Da yo" and then to "Naite mo Iin Da yo".
Do you agree to move the article to "Naite mo Iin Da yo"? Can I tag "Naite mo Iin Da yo" for speedy deletion to make space for the move? --Moscow Connection (talk)
I think "Naitemo iindayo" or "Naitemo-iindayo" is the the best. If you write as "Iindayo", "Ii(いい)" is confusingly similar to "li(り)" especially when it's displayed in Gothic font.--Anosola (talk) 10:24, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it's confusing, but there's probably nothing we can do. (At least it is going to be "Iin Da" cause "Iinda" looks like "Linda".) --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:46, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
り is "ri" not "Li", so there's no confusion with いい being "ii".—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 10:34, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And Moscow Connection, just go to WP:RM and fill out a technical request.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 10:34, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I will do it now. --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:46, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can see you've already requested it. Thanks. --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:48, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
