Airport Names

Hey don't want to start an argument, but putting in airport names in the airline infoboxes makes it look very unorganized. Someone put just the city names on Southwest Airlines' Wikipedia page and I thought it looked really good so I started doing that for other airlines as well. The city/state names redirect to the airport's page so I don't see why we need to show the airport's name. ZHoover123 00:26, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Some people don't click on it they just read it. There may be several airports in the city such as New York, NY. insideairtran

I understand where you're coming from, that's why in cities like New York, I put: New York, New York (JFK) or (LaGuardia)...or Chicago, Illinois (O'Hare) or (Midway), thus making it clear of which airport we speak of. ZHoover123 00:31, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

No one cares about neatness it is about making it user friendly. no offense but your making it not user friendly. insideairtran

Well actually, many people care about neatness, it makes the article look way better and user friendly. look at US Airways' Wiki page, there is a note saying it neads cleanup (neatness does count). ZHoover123 00:37, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

AirTran Airways has a hub in Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport and General Mitchell International Airport. Not in Atlanta, Georgia. AirTran Airways is neat, with the whole airport names. US AIrways is not neat because they are not as well sourced. insideairtran

The standard across the airline articles is to list cities, not airports. Compare also with American Airlines. If you think a variance is warranted, please explain why on the talk page and get consensus before changing it again. —C.Fred (talk) 00:42, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you C.Fred ZHoover123 00:43, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

ZHoover123 changed it so before that is was NORMAL. insideairtran

Just because we're listing cities instead of airports, doesn't make it not normal?! Look how much neater and easier to read American's article is now BECAUSE I changed it. ZHoover123 00:45, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I agree with "insideairtran." I have been working on AirTran Airways for a long time and I know also that it should say the airport name NOT city —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.2.4.184 (talk) 00:55, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't we forget like this ever happened and put it back to what it was for all history of AirTran Airways on wikipedia that know one had a problem with until you showed up. insideairtran

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on AirTran Airways. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. —C.Fred (talk) 01:38, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
