Reasons for my raising wikistress: Harassment
Wikipedia is a kawaii mistress :)

If you have come here to place a request for a re-confirmation of my adminship, please note that I will either:

  • seek community approval of my adminship through an RfC; (no consensus = no change) or
  • choose to take the matter to ArbComm

at my discretion

  • once the "six editors in good standing" count has been met using my own criteria
  • and the matter concerns my admin powers rather than a non-admin editing concern.
  1. Remember, this is a voluntary action, and does not preclude an RfC or RfAr being initiated by others, should others feel they have no recourse.
  2. My "good standing" criteria include
a) the requirement that if the user is calling for recall is an admin, the admin must themselves have been in this category for at least a week.
b) the requirement that the user should be neutral towards my person. This means that if a user is or has been involved in a DR procedure with me as a party, I doubt that user is neutral and I reserve the right to not count this editor as "an editor in good standing" in this case. Hint: it's easy to find a neutral party, like mediators - if you can convince them you are right...
c) I reserve the right to impose additional criteria in the future.
I agree to the edit counter opt-in terms.

DYK

Updated DYK query On 5 December, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Golden Liberty, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Wszystkiego najlepszego!

I would deeply appreciate it if you could help me arrange this article properly; not being a BattleTech fan myself, at least not yet, I I want to make sure its all set. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 15:48, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to change the article title as well if needed, perhaps a broader "Universe of the BattleTech franchise" would be a better title to freely put these articles together in. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CfD nomination of Category:BattleTech history

I have nominated Category:BattleTech history (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:16, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Polish Universities

Is there a uniform format for people associated with Polish Universities? Eg, in Category:Jagiellonian University, there is Category:Alumni of Jagiellonian University (though I think this would be better called Category:Jagiellonian University alumni), but no Category:Jagiellonian University faculty. On the other hand, Category:University of Warsaw has what I would expect in terms of faculty/alumni (for the longest of times, even that was not good, but it finally got fixed a couple of months ago). As for Warsaw University of Technology, it's a mess: no cat for the University per se, no cat for faculty (no one notable there since 1826?), only the poorly named Category:Alumni of Warsaw University of Technology, with a single alumnus (!). At any rate, I could go on, but let me stop. This is a bit frustrating, since I run all the time into articles where I would like to fit in such cats -- for some countries, this is very well done, for other much less so. I'm willing to help if there is interest in this, but I figure I'd better ask you first, see what you think. Have a happy 2008! Turgidson (talk) 18:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year!

Riurik wishes you a Happy 2008!
--Riurik(discuss) 21:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know who else to ask, but could you please look into the discussion there? Things are getting out of hand a bit, do we really have to put up with that kind of stuff, over and over? Thanks. Turgidson (talk) 23:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice--this helps. I'm still hoping this will just blow away, but I'm getting to the point where I doubt it will, unless something is done. As you probably know, I'm almost exclusively interested in editing, and have been trying best I could to stay out of time- and energy-consuming fights since joining WP. But this kind of attitude (and such impugning of motives) cannot stay unchallenged, I feel, or else it will have a very depressing and chilling effect on many editors. Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for all your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.

Warsaw Armoured Motorized Brigade

Hi. I have finally expanded the Warsaw Armoured Motorized Brigade, but I think it is too late for DYK. Or perhaps not? Perhaps you could help out with nomination? Greetings and all the best in new year 2008. Tymek (talk) 17:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article, to which you contributed, will be featured on the Main Page on January 5, 2008.[1] Risker (talk) 17:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gg first.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gg first.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Volapük again

Hi Piotrus. Perhaps you've already noticed a new proposal against the Volapük Wikipedia: m:Proposals for closing projects/Radical cleanup of Volapük Wikipedia. In case you agree that this proposal is not a good idea, perhaps you could help us fight against it with your vote? Thanks! --Smeira (talk) 23:35, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite what I meant - I meant that reporting on it was probably going to be in Polish, since I'm not aware of many English-language newspapers, etc, that report on books in foreign languages at all, and Polish is somewhat of a minority language. In other words - it's of interest to readers, but Wikipedia is breaking ground here to cover it pre-rtranslation (which I hope it gets), so the fellow criticising it for the references in Polish was wrong, as we should judge the quality of sourcing in the context of the Polish sci-fi scene, not apply the standards of the English sci-fi scene.
