== Your edits to Perkins Eastman ==

Hello, thank you for reviewing my COI edit requests and approving the edits. I appreciate your time.

There are still a couple things that need updating: the co-CEOs were announced on Jan. 25, 2019, but under the Leadership section, it also includes a Sep. 25 date. Can I edit that myself? Here is the press release dated 1/25/19: https://perkinseastman.com/2019/01/25/perkins-eastman-unveils-its-succession-plan-as-co-founders-l-bradford-perkins-and-mary-jean-eastman-transition-leadership/

Also, under "Leadership," I need to add mergers for Kliment Halsband Architects (2021), and BLTa (2022). Can I make these corrections? Here are the references:

'''And most importantly,''' what do I need to do to remove the box at the top of our page that states "this article needs additional citations for verification." ?

Question from Queenkikay on Draft:Queen Kikay (17:37, 28 July 2024)

Hello I want to know on how to add my biography about me, I already have a google knowledge panel --Queenkikay (talk) 17:37, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

hi @Queenkikay, Wikipedia generally discourages directly writing an article about yourself, see our conflict of interest policy. If you still want to go ahead, collect at least three independent, reliable sources (i.e. not by you, not by your organization, not social media etc) with significant information about you (not one-two sentences), write a draft based on the information in them, and submit it to WP:AFC, where an independent editor will review it. Rusalkii (talk) 21:00, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from Adewale oluwatofunmi (21:00, 28 July 2024)

Hi 👋👋 --Adewale oluwatofunmi (talk) 21:00, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi! Let me know if you have any questions about editing here :) Rusalkii (talk) 21:01, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from PRunci (14:43, 29 July 2024)

Hi Panini! Thanks for your help. I have been reviewing our Wikipedia page (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) and found many factual errors/outdated items. What would be the best way for me to get the page updated?

Thanks again,

Paul --PRunci (talk) 14:43, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi Paul - you'll want to make a COI edit request.
(Also, you may have me confused with someone else - I don't go by Panini and I don't think we've ever interacted before) Rusalkii (talk) 21:20, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Editor experience invitation

Hi Rusalkii :) I'm looking for experienced editors to interview here. Feel free to pass if you're not interested. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 04:15, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Done, thank you for the invitation! Rusalkii (talk) 18:15, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for adding your perspective! I was also a fan of project moss as a newbie (given my username, it felt like a sign from the universe). I noticed you said you edit dog breed articles sometimes... is there any chance you might be interested on working together on this draft? Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 18:15, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Oh man. I keep meaning to do a lit review on the actual incidence of breed-specific dog bites, but I'm not entirely sure that would be contextually appropriate here, it looks like you're mostly focusing on specific laws? But Breed-specific legislation, which is also not really the place for it. I think I'm slightly confused about the scope here - is it any concept of "dangerous dog", is it the legal concept, something else? Rusalkii (talk) 18:28, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
The legal concept of a dangerous dog, yeah. I'm trying to avoid duplicate content where I can but some areas define specific breeds as dangerous dogs in addition to individual dogs so it's not entirely avoidable. There's some further context on the talk page if you wish to chip in. Everything is still very barebones right now and the more the merrier :) Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 18:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Got it. I dropped some sources onto the talk page though I'm not sure how on topic they'll end up being, I might take a closer look after work today. Rusalkii (talk) 18:52, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Sagar daa on Hyphanet (09:55, 1 August 2024)

My gf mobile hack --Sagar daa (talk) 09:55, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Sorry, I have no idea what you're trying to say. Rusalkii (talk) 17:13, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

New Geoffrey von Maltzahn request

Hello, Rusalkii. I've posted another request on the Geoffrey von Maltzahn article Talk page that I'm hoping you can look at. I took a stab at trimming down the Career section by removing superfluous details and focusing only on the most notable moments in his career, particularly those that have received ample media coverage. I would be grateful if you could review the request and let me know what you think. Many thanks. Lindy D at Flagship (talk) 19:40, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Question about Draft:Blackfoot orthographies

I have a question. Why my draft got declined, it was like thoses other article about the language, like example english orthography has is own article, but for Blackfoot it doesn't, and i made a article about the blackfoot orthographies, it was a separate article for blackfoot language article. ᖻᒪᓱ ᒋᔈᒪ (talk) 06:55, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

@ᖻᒪᓱ ᒋᔈᒪ, it would be great to have an article about Blackfoot orthography and I appreciate you writing one. The problem is that there weren't enough sources to back up the information in the article. For example, English orthography has a large bibliography indicating where we can check the information. Referencing a Wikipedia article

My previous discussion with you is now archived in May 2024. I discussed editing existing articles and the possibility of posting an already-written article on Wikipedia about myself (not written by anyone I know). You kindly suggested that I post the article and that you will take a look it for possible posting on Wikipedia. Before doing that, I want to include a reference to an existing Wikipedia article. How would I do that? Is there a specific format for that? Note that in our previous exchange you told me that I should login before sending messages. I have now registered myself and have the login name of Joerut -- my previous messages, before I was registered, were from Joseph Rosenstein. Joerut (talk) 01:19, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

@Joerut if by "reference" you mean a citation to prove a fact, you should not cite wikipedia articles. Instead, cite whatever the article that you're looking at uses as a source. If you just mean including a link, you can surround the title with brackets, like so: [[Example]] Rusalkii (talk) 01:43, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Good point! The Wikipedia article that I wanted to cite did not provide a source for a statement that it made. So I should find an appropriate source and add it to the existing Wikipedia article, and use the source in my article as well. Thank you. Stay tuned. Joerut (talk) 01:54, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Success! I have found a link to an appropriate source and (Success again!) I have added that to the existing Wikipedia article. I have also added it to the article about me, putting the link in double brackets, as in [[Example]] above. Now I need to exit and visit the May 2024 archive where you told me how to upload the article for your review. Joerut (talk) 19:50, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
I have now published my proposed Wikipedia page as a draft, as you suggested. I hope that you will have access to it and will be able to review it. I notice that all the references got screwed up, and that I will have to figure out how to unscrew them. Joerut (talk) 19:59, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
Did you have an opportunity to review my proposed Wikipedia page? Joerut (talk) 02:58, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from MUGGU HEMA SRUTHI (17:22, 7 August 2024)

Hello ,how to write a review article --MUGGU HEMA SRUTHI (talk) 17:22, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by a review article. Rusalkii (talk) 19:56, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Smallbones, reporter from The Signpost here asking for on-Wiki or email reply for publication.

Have you seen the story Portland Commissioner Rene Gonzalez spent thousands in city funds to polish Wikipedia page (apparently $6,000)?

Can you tell us about your reaction?

Smallbones(smalltalk) 20:28, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Well, it's sure exciting to wake up and find you're being quoted on Fox News. As "he", too.
More seriously, as I said on the talk page, I think that from a purely on-wiki point of view the COI editor seems to be making a good-faith effort to follow all WP:PAID policies. They worked through edit requests and made disclosures. Ideally they would have disclosed that they were being paid by a consulting company, but as a person answering edit requests I care much more about who they're being paid to promote rather than exactly how that money is getting to them. I don't think the edits should have been reverted wholesale (e.g., adding that he's running for mayor seems both clearly relevant and completely neutral), though I'm not wading into that one beyond the talk page comment.
Also, we're clearly all being underpaid if that was a $6,400 edit. Rusalkii (talk) 02:29, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. Smallbones(smalltalk) 03:04, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
FYI, I emailed the Fox News author with a correction and they did switch to "she". Rusalkii (talk) 03:51, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Responding to your feedback for Dark Castle Entertainment

Hi Rusalkii, I'm sorry to bother you, but my edit request for Dark Castle Entertainment has been up for a while now. I've reached out to many editors to get the community involved, but I'm not getting any engagement. I addressed your feedback, can you please take another look and let me know if my response is sufficient? I appreciate your assistance, DJ for Katz (talk) 15:56, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi, sorry, the backlog for edit requests is always really long and I usually look at them in batches around my other tasks. I'm taking a look now. Rusalkii (talk) 21:36, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Arya.noori (04:44, 11 August 2024)

I have written my first article and it's in my sandbox. now I don't know how to publish it. would you pls help me with this matter? --Arya.noori (talk) 04:44, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi Arya, you might want to first take a look at the guidelines for whether a person should have an article and an introduction to referenes. I've moved your article into draftspace and put a submission banner up top. Once you've read those pages and think your article is ready, you can submit it, but it's also possible that this person doesn't meet our criteria for having an article. Rusalkii (talk) 21:29, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Walter Zapotoczny (16:01, 12 August 2024)

I want to create a page about myself, based on the biography from my website: https://www.wzaponline.com/biography.htm. Please advise. Thank you. --Walter Zapotoczny (talk) 16:01, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi Walter, as a general rule, we want to see articles with independent sources about the subject, i.e. not by the person themselves or their employer or anyone else associated with them. To make sure we have an unbiased & accurate view, we only accept articles that have at least 2-3 independent, reliable sources with substantial coverage about the subject. A good example might be newspaper articles with at least 2-3 paragraphs about you or similar published sources. If you can find sources like that, then take a look at WP:My first article. Question from 202450007primogeniture (12:52, 13 August 2024)

hello, I am interested in the field of law especially under Equity and Trust, can you help me start editing --202450007primogeniture (talk) 12:52, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi! You may want to take a look at WP:Wikiproject Law for other editors interested in the topic and lists of related articles that need work. A good place to start might be Category:Stub-Class law articles, where you can find a list of law-related stubs you could expand. Rusalkii (talk) 21:21, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi

Something seems to have gone wrong with this edit. Thank you, Polygnotus (talk) 17:05, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

I don't see the issue? Possibly because I'm editing on my phone right now, if I did something terribly stupid feel free to revert and I'll fix it on a more reasonable device. Rusalkii (talk) 17:09, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
For some reason part of a sentence was deleted here. I added it back in. Polygnotus (talk) 17:13, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
Huh, weird. Thanks for the catch! Rusalkii (talk) 17:31, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Bgreyscale (14:29, 19 August 2024)

Hello Rusalkii. Thank you for serving as an editing mentor. I've written a factual article about a public figure and all facts are true and (most) are cited by esteemed reliable media outlets, however it was not accepted for publication. I have recently edited it a great deal to try to fix any citation errors. Might you be able to give me some direction on how to improve it further for acceptance? Many thanks! BGS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Katherine_(Gibbs)_Parr

--Bgreyscale (talk) 14:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Bgreyscale. That was a rather vague decline reason, yeah. The problem isn't that your article isn't factual, and you have enough sources. Generally speaking, we want an article to several good sources with substantial coverage of the topic of the article which are independent of the subject. You want to find at least 2-3 sources like this (a good example is newspaper articles primarily about Parr from major newspapers). If the source doesn't pass this criteria, you can still use it to back up facts in the article, but if we don't have any sources like this then we don't have enough good substantive coverage to have an article about the person.
Some examples: none of the Villanova University sources pass this criteria, because she's an alumni and the university has an incentive to make her look good, and the Bloomberg source doesn't work because she's just mentioned in one sentence, and the CNN transcript doesn't work because it's an interview (so essentially "by" Parr). Rusalkii (talk) 17:42, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
Ah - ok Thank you for clarifying- I will attempt to find other sources in exchange for the ones you suggested are not reliable enough. All best! Bgreyscale (talk) 19:17, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Thank you!

Just wanted to offer a word of thanks for your review and incorporation of proposed edits for the Edward D. "Ted" Jones article. Much appreciated! Jon Gray (talk) 19:56, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Hey I'm trying to create my user page but it won't let me publish. Any way you could help me with that please? --Jaymiefox15 (talk) 22:57, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Go to User:Jaymiefox15. It should present a page with an editor. Type whatever you want to put on your userpage there and then hit the blue "publish page" button in the upper right. If that button's greyed out, then you haven't actually entered anything yet - you can't publish a completely blank page. Rusalkii (talk) 23:02, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Hey, this isn't Wikipedia related but I was wondering if we could just talk --Jaymiefox15 (talk) 23:53, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Jaymiefox15 (01:20, 20 August 2024)

Hey I can't figure out how to get to other peoples user pages other than Actualcpscm's and I don't even know how I did that. Also I want to make an article about John Wayne Gacy/The killer clown but I don't know how to do that and I need help with that. Can you please help me? Thank you for your time. --Jaymiefox15 (talk) 01:20, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

If you see someone's signature (their name at the end of the message), thier name is usually a link to their userpage. Alternative, you can go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rusalkii, and substitute the username of whichever editor's userpage you want to see for Rusalkii.
There's already an article on John Wayne Gacy at that link. In general, to make an article, take a look at Help:My first article. Overall, before you start, the most important thing is to check that the subject doesn't already have an article, and if they don't, check if they're notable. In general, that means finding at least 2-3 high quality reliable published sources independent of the subject that have substantial content on them. Good examples would be most books or newspaper articles about the subject. Rusalkii (talk) 03:18, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

COI edit requests

Hi, this is just a note to say that over the last week or so I've been quite active in dealing with COI edit requests, trying to help reduce the backlog. I'd spotted that you are also very active there and have a great deal of experience.

I realised recently that I have no stomach for dealing with paid editors and their often quite outrageous attempts to install promo material on to Wikipedia. It is a form of work which I find deeply unpleasant.

So, my intention from a couple of days ago had been to look at no further COI edit requests and to only deal with responses to anything I had done in the past. Please feel free to unilaterally over-rule any contribution I had made on COI edit requests that you disagree with, without the need to inform me.

I very much admire the work that you do, but I'm afraid that it's not for me.

Best wishes, Axad12 (talk) 04:33, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

Got it, thanks for the update. I'll avoid pinging you about this in the future. Hope your other work is more fun. Rusalkii (talk) 20:03, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
