Dr. Belur Raghunandan is an important name among the Kannada literature . Many of his poetries , children literature , plays , stories , columns , travelogue and research writings have been published. He is a widely acclaimed poet , critic and dramatist in Kannada theatre.[1][2]

Childhood​​​

Beluru Raghunandan was born as the eldest son of Subbalakshmi and Ramesh in Belur, Hassan district, Karnataka, India. Beluru Raghunandan spends his childhood under the care of his grandparents.

Beluru Raghunandan's childhood was full of pain, violence, humiliation and atrocities. Beluru Raghunandan was shaped by the fears and insecurities he faced as a child. Shwetha (Vijayalakshmi) and Naveen Kumar being his siblings.

Kaajaana

Beluru Raghunadan started Kaajaana Balaga in 2010 which is a culturally independent troupe in the fields of literature , theater and cinema . Since last one and a half decade Kajana has been conducting various programs like Kavya Kammata, Ranga Kammata, Chinnara Kaajaana, Cine Kaajaana. Book publishing is also one of the main avenues of Kaajaana. Working with the immense possibilities of nature and expression, Kaajaana continues to work tirelessly again and again with many dreams and hopes.

Kaajaana organizes Kavya Kammata to help hundreds of budding poets in Kuppali every year.  It has also been giving 'Kaajaana Puraskara' to promising young writers of the new generation.  Also 'Kaajaana Ranga Puraskar' has been given to promising young theater workers. Kaajaana Balaga has also produced several dramas.

Kavya Kaajaana also conducts programs in government schools at different districts of the state. Again Kaajaana is coming up with several new projects according to time. Kaajaana Publishing has so far brought out books in the genres of Poetry , Spirituality , Criticism , Research , Editing etc. Through Kajana Beluru Raghunandan is accompanying many new writers and dramatists.

Personal life

Belur Raghunandan is married to Smt Lakshmi TS in 2008. Mrs. Lakshmi Raghunandan is a B.E graduate in an IT company. They have two children named Gokula Sahrudaya and Udayaravi. Belur Raghunandan's elder son Gokula Sahrudaya had a keen interest in theatre . At the age of ten, he performed a one-man play ' Chitte '[6] under the direction of famous theater actor Krishnamurthy Kavattar and won the appreciation of theater lovers. This is a unique attempt in Kannada theatre . Gokula Sahrudaya is into theater since he was 4 years old.

Belur Raghunandan has great interest in theatre , music and travel .[7][8][9][10][11]

1.      Disciple of Gamaka Vidwan B.K. Vanamala, Beluru. (Certified in senior level examination conducted by Karnataka Gamaka Parishath).

2.      Written more than 400 Rangageethe (theatre songs) for Kannada Plays, all of which are composed.

3.      “Shwethagaana” A set of ten poems written by Dr. Belur Raghunandan were musically composed and sung by Vidushi Smt. Ganashree Srinivasulu. Documented in the form a CD, this has been released in 2013.

4.      Some of his poetries are composed in to light music under the music direction of Sri Ramachandra Hadpad, a well-known Hindustani singer.

5.      Smt. Savitha Amaresh Nugadoni, famous Hindustani singer has composed and sung many of his kattupada.

6.      Recital and interpretation of some of the kattupada written by him are made by Sri. Gamaki Madhusudhan and Smt.Vidhya Rao.
