"Airanichya Deva Tula" is a 1965 Indian Marathi-language song from the soundtrck album of Sadhi Mansa. It was written by Jagdish Khebudkar and sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The song became an enduring classic among Marathi audiences and received numerous awards awards.[1] Lata Mangeshkar was honored with the Best Music Director Award by the Maharashtra State Government for her work on the film.[2]
Background
Originally, the lyricist for this song was supposed to be Yogesh, as decided by the film's producer Bhalji Pendharkar. However, when Bhalji conceived the concept for the film, he made the choice to personally pen the songs, deviating from his initial plan. As a result, he took on the task of writing all the songs for the film himself. Seeking a distinctive piece for the film, Bhalji Pendharkar promptly reached out to Jagdish Khebudkar. Sitting face-to-face, Bhalji shared intricate details of the film scene with Jagdish, emphasizing the need for a song that would emotionally portray a diligent blacksmith and his wife expressing gratitude to God. The lyrics of the song were planned to be 'Airanichya Deva Tula Aginphule Vahu De...' However, during the recording session, there was a sudden alteration, and the lyrics were changed to 'Airanichya Deva Tula Thingi Thingi Vahu De...'. In Marathi, 'Aginphule' and 'Thingi' both signify 'spark'.[3][4][5]
