The Council of Ministers of Haryana was formed on 12 March 2024 when Manohar Lal Khattar resigned after ending the coalition of BJP-JJP alliance (2019 - 2024).[1][2] Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new leader of the Haryana Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha member from Kurukshetra Nayab Singh from BJP and 5 other legislators at Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.[3][4]
History
After the 2019 Assembly election, the BJP-JJP coalition in Haryana formed and appeared to be functioning well until disagreements arose regarding seat distribution for the Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, the JJP contested and lost seven seats, while the BJP gained all ten seats from Haryana.[5]
In 2024 the JJP had requested two seats, but the BJP had only agreed to grant them one. The JJP has declared that it will run for all ten seats alone. Dushyant Chautala, the leader of the party, is set to reveal campaign plans against BJP during a gathering the party will host in the Hisar district.[6]
