"Always on the Run" is a song by German singer Isaak Guderian, known as Isaak. It was released on 19 January 2024 through Good Kid Records and Polydor Records. The song is set to represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö after having won Unser Lied für Malmö, the German national final.

Background and reception

On "Always on the Run", the 28-year old from Ostwestfalen-Lippe[1] provided insight into his "conflicting" mind through a "powerful sound" paired with "calm moments". He describes making music as his "only refuge" that allows him to truly be himself.[2] Guderian first started out as a street performer before participating as a contestant in various formats, including X Factor (2011) and Show Your Talent (2021).[3] Ahead of his performance, the singer had not been favoured as a contestant.[4]

On 16 February 2024, Guderian performed at the German predecision event in Berlin alongside eight other contestants, including Max Mutzke, who previously represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004.[5] The ballot was evenly divided in viewer voting and the assessment by an international jury, both of which the singer won with 74 points in total as well as 19 points ahead of Mutzke, who finished second.[6]
