Transnistria does not require foreign visitors to obtain a visa; however, visitors need to obtain and fill out a migration card (scanners are installed at some checkpoints to automatically fill them out). The validity period is 45 days with the possibility of extension for a period not exceeding 3 years.[1]
Admission refused
From April 1, 2023, free entry into the territory of Transnistria to nationals of Ukraine of military age (from 18 to 60 years inclusive) male and female without the permission of the Ministry of State Security of the Transnistria is prohibited.[2] The prohibition does not apply:
1. Nationals of Ukraine who have already entered the territory of the Transnistria after February 24, 2022.
2. Nationals of Ukraine who are traveling to their wives, husbands, parents, children or siblings living in the territory of the Transnistria (kinship must be documented: Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, etc.). Nationals of Ukraine can obtain permission to enter the territory of the Transnistria for citizens of Ukraine from the Ministry of State Security of the Transnistria on the basis of an electronic or written application sent by the receiving party (citizens Transnistria). The permit is issued within 10 days (actually within 3 working days).
