Liptov is a beautiful mountain region in the north of Slovakia, which is surrounded by the Low Tatras, Western Tatras, High Tatras, Chočské vrchy and Veľká Fatra. The surrounding mountains are interwoven with beautiful valleys, you will find caves, streams, mountain pools and waterfalls, beautiful views and open-air museums, as well as cultural and historical monuments. The beautiful nature of Liptov attracts tourists. On the marked hiking trails, you can choose according to the level of difficulty, whether it is family walks with children or more demanding hiking for experienced and fit hikers, the fresh mountain air will do everyone good. It is definitely worth visiting the caves - in the Demänovská valley - the Demänovská freedom cave with its beautiful sinter decoration or the Demänovská ice cave, or you can choose another one in the vicinity.

Location. Easy access to most of things you will need.

We came for the 3-days skimo competition "Bokami", so we appreciated the location's proximity to the mountains, Western Tatras are amazing, definitely recommended to all visitors! For piste skiing you have Spalena dolina ski resort, and for ski touring you have them all: Zuberec region, Ziarska dolina, Bobrovec dolina (valleys). We visited also Dolny Kubin, a beautiful small town with historical center, cute renovated churches, traditional houses, cobbled streets and the awesome traditional restaurant Penzion Koliba. Definitely loved every moment of it!

The village is quite and peacefull.

There are a lot of possibilities in the neighborhood, because the village is situated between Low and Hight Tatras and also not that far from Fatra mountains. You can choose among museums, caves, hiking, spa, city visit (great coffee in Aurelica, Archcoffe, Diera do sveta). There are also museums in Liptovský Mikuláš, surprisingly a lot of art in the town :) Recommended to always have some cash with you, there's not that many ATM machines in the neighborhood ;) In restaurants you can pay by cards, no issue.

Region is super beautiful, the mountains are so gorgeous! and skiing was the best!
