Cognate with Bashkir батҡаҡ (batqaq), Kyrgyz баткак (batkak), Kazakh батпақ (batpaq), Shor патқақ (patqaq), Karachay-Balkar батхакъ (batxaq, “clay, mud”), Uzbek botqoq, Uyghur پاتقاق (patqaq, “sticky mud, bog”), Turkmen batga (“swamp, bog”), Turkish batak (“swamp, bog”), etc.
