Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hakeem Odoffin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barnet. Infobox dates

edit

Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Eastern Senior League

edit

It's still not clear what the division names are going to be, so I'd strongly advise against continuing to make changes on the assumption that ECL Division One and Eastern Senior League are the correct names. Number 57 19:11, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's also unclear whether the new league is part of the ECL. From what I've seen, it's a standalone league with its own committee, with the ECL helping run it. So it's also not a good idea to conflate the two leagues until it's clear. Cheers, Number 57 19:13, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, not a good idea to start creating articles on the new step 6 clubs yet. Best wait until the AGMs and the league lineups are confirmed (I vaguely recall reading that not all clubs in the FA's step 5/6 allocations actually have the necessary ground grading in place so may not appear in step 6 next season). May & Baker

edit

As far as I'm aware (based on Tony's Non-League Forum), the club apparently are at the M&B Sports Ground for the forthcoming season. Presumably they've done some work on it, although I may have put the pin in the middle of the wrong pitch. Number 57 09:24, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Number 57: It's a tricky one. They definitely played at Barking RFC last season as per their Twitter and it's still listed as one of two locations on their website. Their Twitter doesn't say anything about them moving back to the social club, nor can I find anything about upgrade work taking place yet. Pre-season training is also taking place at Barking RFC as per their Twitter. Gale Street also looks a lot closer to Step 6 standard than the social club does, which doesn't even have a railed off pitch. Given that the author of the source provided admits that it may not be fully accurate and is open to corrections, I have switched back. OGLV (talk) 10:22, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, let's see where they end up. Either way it will be a new ground for me next season! By the way, you only changed the infobox, not the co-ordinates or the introduction. Cheers, Number 57 10:24, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Preview – Consolidate – Summarize

edit

Hello, and thanks for your edits to Anna Chancellor. Below are a few editing suggestions to make it easier for you and others to collaborate on the encyclopedia. Please preview, consolidate, and summarize your edits:

  • Try to consolidate your edits, at least at the section level, to avoid cluttering the page's edit history; this makes it easier for your fellow editors to understand your intentions, and makes it easier for those monitoring activity on the article.
    • The show preview button (beside the "publish changes" button) is helpful for this; use it to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits.
  • Please remember to explain each edit with an edit summary (box above the "publish changes" button).

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 21:54, 15 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Cheye Alexander), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. 2021–22 league updates

edit

Hello. Regarding your update of {{Spartan South Midlands League}}, I am not sure it's a good idea just yet, as the step 7 allocations have not yet been made. Ways to improve Lee Suk-jae

edit

Hello, OGLV,

Thank you for creating Lee Suk-jae.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

What is needed are references from significant coverage about this player, and not their own words; in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. Lists, Team rosters, pages listing matches and results, databases, Instagram, Soccerway, Facebook, none of these are reliable sources. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - see WP:NSPORT ) You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally giving more information about this player, that meet these criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that this article is not suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Infobox timestamps

edit

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 23:19, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Danny Collinge

The article Danny Collinge has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has not played in football league

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Speedy deletion nomination of Danny Collinge

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Danny Collinge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. please use edit summaries

edit

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! -- mikeblas (talk) 18:39, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
