"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power." - Franklin D. Roosevelt [3] |

Thanks
editThanks for your comments at the paranormal project talk page. I should commend you for keeping a cool head. Looking back, I was rather overdramatic in my response. Zagalejo^^^ 22:12, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Elvis
editThanks for trying to re-instate some of my recent edits to shorten the article and updating the first image. Not sure how things are going to develop given recent editing practices (no need to mention names...). Rikstar 13:26, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Elvis again - begininng the process
editOK. Today I will begin inquiries. I'll keep you guys informed, and we will undoubtedly need your input.(Although frankly, I think the Elvis talk page makes things pretty obvious.) You aren't going on vacation any time soon, I hope? Steve Pastor 15:58, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Forgive me, but where do I access your email add? It's all new to me. I'm still stuck indoors and feeling out of shape, but would willing swap addresses. Thanks. Rikstar (talk) 13:57, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. Wiki has just confirmed my email address by email. Rikstar (talk) 14:26, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Read your post. Really felt for you and the sentiments you expressed. There is something wrong when the likes of us are the ones who get churned up in the revolving door of endless arguments. Can you access my email? We should have a chat when time permits. A bit of a debrief maybe. Rikstar (talk) 22:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Arbcom 141
editI think I finally figured out all of the formatting to get the Arbcom submittal ready. I just looked at some of the "verifiable, well sourced" but incorrect material 141 put in the Steve Allen and Ed Sullivan Show articles. It's very sad, but I don't even want to get into it in those articles. And I am ready to do this. I will file on Monday, so I will have to time to notify everyone. Thanks for the input. I'll post a link to the Arbcom case on Monday, too. Steve Pastor (talk) 20:39, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Anchor baby again
editHi. Just FYI, a new editor is jumping onto the Anchor baby article. Since you were part of last summer's discussion about this article, I wanted to be sure you were aware, in case you might have dropped it from your watch list but wanted to say something now. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gt2006logo.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Gt2006logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
A concern was raised that the clause, "a primary source may be used only to make descriptive claims, the accuracy of which is verifiable by any reasonable, educated person without specialist knowledge" conflicts with WP:NPOV by placing a higher duty of care with primary sourced claims than secondary or tertiary sourced claims. An RFC has been initiated to stimulate wider input on the issue. Professor marginalia (talk) 19:00, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Hello again
editGood to find your message. Yes, I have managed, at the risk of driving myself nuts, to keep chipping away at the Presley article. But I thought the format was dead in the water, hence the sandbox version I started this month. It's had good reviews; it would be nice if it could replace the existing, B-rated version. They Are Trying To Delete Ghostly Talk
editWell, the Ghostly Talk article is up for deletion again. I have done everything I can and it does not seem to be good enough for some people. Could you please take a look at the Ghostly Talk article and possibly help me on what needs to be added so the article is not deleted. I have added so much to establish notability and it is not good enough for some. Please help. Gtscottl 06:42, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Ghostly Talk

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ScienceApologist (talk) 22:53, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
