Rob Kaufman (born December 19, 1991) is an American entertainment performer and producer. He is most known as the host of The Rob Kaufman Show, a comedy show originally broadcast on talk radio and later adapted for television, podcasting, animation, and various other mediums.
Early life
editthroughout childhood, his art teachers were often endeared to him for his ability to draw cartoons and realistic sketches - these teachers often attempted to encourage his abilities, but he preferred reading and writing
In 2000, he was awarded first prize by Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino in a citywide art contest
he was introduced to the internet as it was becoming a prominent part of society, and claims to have taught himself HTML, photoshop, video and motion graphics editing, among other technical skills.
In high school, he took the advice of his art teachers and attended a socially liberal pilot school for visual and performing arts
Soon after, he rejected school work and art alike due to the creatively restrained atmosphere. he began producing music for school and continued learning video editing and motion graphics
In 2009 he began skipping school in order to focus on podcasting at 16 years old - in addition to being an early adopter of the media, he was also one of the youngest podcasters online
Career
edit2011–2014: Radio performer and Entertainment producer
editengineer, producer, writer, and talent agent at 19 - fresh out of high school he secured a job at a local radio station as a producer, coordinating musicians, comedians, hosts and other talent - he adapted his old podcast for live radio and became the youngest working radio host in America in 2011 - when he overheard station owners noting the inconsistency of their performers and brand, he offered to help for free - as writer, director, and talent coach; he helped to groom and influence a number of young entertainers who went onto consistent viral success in media
by 21, he had become a full time radio host, broadcasting 3 hours daily monday to friday - his creative output was tripled when he was promoted to production manager of a major Boston radio station - in 2013 he launched a self-produced weekly online TV show 'Rob Kaufman On Air' which consisted of footage from his radio show - after being fired and banned from multiple radio stations for content disagreements and language violations, he immediately took a hiatus from the spotlight
2014–2018: Return to Podcasting and Production
editin 2018, he relaunched his show independent of any radio station at his very own studio facility
in 2019, he launched a full scale audiovisual network with radio and video streams
