About Me
editSome people like to hide their identity on Wikipedia. I see in the news it has caused a lot of controversy. Not me. I am who I am. My intention is not to vandalize, not to victimize, and not to fictionalize. If I write it I am fairly certain it is accurate and I try to include my sources. I tend to avoid controversy. While I am not sure I agree with all the bureaucracy forming within Wikipedia I still believe we need to preserve history for future generations. The debate for me is where to place the archive. My blog certainly doesn’t seem to qualify. So for now, with all of Wikipedia’s imperfections and my good intentions, I will preserve history here.
I cannot lie. I am somewhat concerned about over zealous administrators. But, maybe the pendulum will swing again. I do understand my opinion is not the only opinion when it comes to value.
And now, without further adieu, I present the real me, my qualifications, and my philosophy in sharing what little I know.
- Bell Buckle, Tennessee (Actually on the Rutherford County side of the county line).
- Previous Residency (not in chronological order):
- Cherokee Elementary School
- Cherokee Middle School
- Cherokee High School: Academic Diploma
- Auburn University: BEE (Bachelor's degree, Electrical Engineering)
- University of North Alabama: Undergraduate and Graduate Work
- Rockingham Community College: Microsoft Networking
The goal of my participation is to preserve history for future generations, especially about my hometown. Too often the actual significance each of our ancestors played into making the world what it is today is forgotten and only the politically connected are remembered. To compound the problem the politically connected often have the ability to whitewash their own mistakes.
I despise vandals who don’t value the significance of preserving our past so we can learn for the future. I despise overzealous administrators who see the chance to build their own ego through a power rush and hide behind anonymity. I praise editors and administrators who are willing to open a conversation BEFORE creating a conflict. I am unsure about my feelings for Wikipedia as an organization. I am always unsure of any organization who claims tax exemption but seems to find a way to profit from their efforts.
Personally I don’t think everything you can add of historical significance can be freely sourced. Therefore I support the concept of fair use. I support the idea of copyrighting material but I think material can be referenced and attributed to its source without damaging the overall profitability of the entire works if only a minor portion is used for historical purposes.

- Undercover Angel - shhhh. Just enjoy the song. I don't care if you think I'm crazy.
- Lexx - Best science fiction ever made. And you get to watch this. End of discussion.
- Cheryl Tiegs - taught the rest how to model.
- Olivia Newton-John - set the record straight on Aussie women. They can sing!
- Nicole Kidman - set the record straight on Aussie women. They look good. Sorry Tom, you lost.
- Disc Jockey - fun job but I couldn't make money. So now I must program computers for a living.
- President Bill Clinton - the best president in recent history. (In contrast to George W. Bush who will go down in history as one of the worst.)
- Denise Richards - terrible picture on Wikipedia. Made a terrible decision to marry Charlie. What was she thinking? But she once was a fantasy girl.
- An Inconvenient Truth - Should we ignore it and let our grandchildren deal with it?

My small attempt at preventing identity theft. Although I seriously doubt anybody would really want to use my identity to edit Wikipedia, I can now offer some cryptic proof of my actual identity. But please understand that I cannot offer autographed pictures at this time, as I expect future fame may make such autographs an object of great opportunity on eBay.
