English: Pseudoalteromonas strain SM9913. Analysis of the effect of FilZ on polar flagellum motility. (a) Swarming motility and flagellation of strains SM9913 (wildtype), Δ0915, Δ0915(pEV0915), and Δ0915(pEV) on the swarming plates at 15 °C for 68 h. At least 30 cells were observed for the flagellation at each time point. The red arrow points to the polar flagellum, and the blue arrow to the lateral one. Bar, 1 μm. (b) Colonies formed by strains SM9913(pEV), Δ0915(pEV), Δ0915(pEVfilZ), and Δ0915(pEVfilZ-R13A) in 0.3 % soft agar. Plates were incubated at 15 °C for 68 h. |
