According to the FemHealth Insights report the UAE has one of the fastest developing FemTech market. Today we would like to share two acceleration programs in the Middle East, which Marina Sol, the founder of Diagnio, recommended you pay attention to. These programs have already been launched this year and we will watch their growth. Women’s Health Accelerator program is an acceleration program launched by Flat6Labs and Organon, a global healthcare company. It aims to support Femtech startups that focus on improving the health and well-being of women in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region. The program provides support in creating products, testing market fit, and improving business models. Selection criteria: - Willingness to complete a 3-month virtual program - The startup must be based on innovative technology focused on women's health - Confirmation of unfulfilled needs in the market and the possibility of scaling up the project - Team members have the required qualifications - Willingness to fully devote oneself to working on the project if successful - Intention to develop business around the world - Location: the Middle East and Africa region. - Specialization: in one of the target sectors listed below. Target sectors: - Family planning: including technology to improve contraceptive counseling and education, and awareness of tools and options - Fertility: including IVF solutions, mental health support and counseling solutions - Women's health: including innovations in self-care and maternity, disease prevention and menstrual health Sandbox Accelerator is a startup acceleration program by Oraseya Capital designed for ambitious technology entrepreneurs in the pre-Seed to Seed stage. There is no specialization in femtech products. The program takes place offline in Dubai, UAE. Selection criteria: - Team of 2+ full-time founders preferred (solo founders will also be considered) - UAE-based technology startup solving a unique problem with a scalable business model - Addressable market in the Middle East and North Africa linked to Dubai - Startups from MVP to seed seeking to attract investment in the next 12 months - Any signs of early success will give an advantage.

Exploring the UAE’s Healthcare and Biotech Innovations: Fresh Insights and New Friends My first trip to the UAE turned into a full month of great experiences! It all started with the HealthTech Leaders Summit organized by Forbes Middle East, followed by GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World — and suddenly, I was moving from one great event to the next. What began as a simple idea to learn more about the local healthcare and biotech ecosystem quickly turned into a deep dive into the region's innovations. I was fortunate to meet brilliant people from organizations like the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Science Park, Hub71, Ministry of Health and Prevention - UAE, Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund, Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), Shorooq Partners, PureHealth, Technology Innovation Institute, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Thanks to their hospitality, I gained valuable insights into local healthcare transformation, the ecosystem, and potential opportunities. Adam and I will summarize everything in an upcoming piece, but here’s a quick takeaway: ➡ The healthcare structure here is quite interesting, with standout achievements that could serve as valuable case studies. ➡ There are also challenges, many of which are similar to those in EU healthcare. ➡ Some of the amazing programs include one of the top genomic sequencing initiatives in the region, and projects that analyze genomic, environmental, epigenetic, and health data for breakthrough insights. ➡ These efforts are driving advancements in areas like drug discovery, bioinformatics, AI, and clinical genomics — all part of the broader Life Sciences Platform led by M42 Health, Microsoft, and other ecosystem partners. ➡ Not to mention PureHealth’s second phase of their regional longevity trial, which explores how specific activities and interventions impact health and longevity. None of this would’ve been possible without my amazing friend Alla, who hosted me during my stay. She’s building her own executive search and staffing company in the region, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the Global Shapers Community for such people. I’m happy to have made new friends in the UAE, and now this city feels like home too.
