We announced at the “Choose France Summit” with President Emmanuel Macron our plans to invest 600 M EUR within 5 years. As the first phase of our expansion, we will start R&D activities in Toulouse to develop next-generation battery technology. Our CEO Taavi Madiberk is today at the Rencontres Economiques d'Aix-en-Provence - France's main business and economics conference - talking about the challenge of scarcity of resources and materials, making a case for European #strategicautonomy and for developing different #battery technologies. Europe does need more gigafactories producing li-ion batteries for EVs, but we must also innovate and develop #batteries that do not rely on scarce critical raw materials and address the needs of hard-to-decarbonize sectors.
