Research shows cartoons for girls pile on the sugar
Shows for girls mention sweets eight times more often than shows for boys, study finds. Nichole Kelly, PhD, who researches eating behaviors at the university, said it is important to monitor how food is marketed to younger generations — as a “poor diet” can increase the risk factor for certain health conditions.

ASAT Celebrates Kimberly Marshall, PhD, BCBA-D
The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) celebrates Dr. Kimberly Marshall, who they consider one of their most impactful volunteers. Under Kimberly’s leadership, ASAT has published 24 treatment summaries in the last few years, two of which she authored herself. She has helped them to successfully strike a balance between behavior-analytic and non-behavior-analytic interventions.

Why California Still Doesn’t Mandate Dyslexia Screening
Education experts agree that early screening and intervention is critical for making sure students can read at grade level. But so far, state officials have done almost everything to combat dyslexia except mandate assessments for all students. We are a premier provider of educational and related clinical services to local communities and the state of Oregon. We are also a critical provider of technical assistance to international governments ranging from Saudi Arabia to New Zealand to Denmark. With services such as learning disability assessments, speech-language pathology, family counseling, early childhood special education, and behavioral support for children with autism among many, we support children and families of all ages—from infants and toddlers to adolescents and young adults.

Sapsik'ʷałá Teacher Education Program
Sapsik'ʷałá, a Ichishkíin/Sahaptin word meaning "teacher", is the name of a program created by the University of Oregon College of Education in partnership with the nine federally recognized Tribes of the State of Oregon. The 12-month program allows participants to earn a master of education (MEd) degree and teacher licensure.
The Sapsik'ʷałá Teacher Education Program supports American Indian and Alaska Native teacher candidates in becoming professional educators, provides funding for teacher candidates' cost of attendance, and provides two years of support services once in the field.
