Working Groups

Working Groups

Four Working Groups have been established as part of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Earth Observations (GEO) 2023-2025 Work Programme. They focus on the key issues related to Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Data, Resilient Cities and Human Settlement.

The Foundational Tasks of GEO involve a range of activities, with some carried out by the GEO Secretariat and others undertaken by collaborative teams drawn from across the GEO community. These teams are basically called Working Groups.

By working closely with stakeholders, the Working Groups ensure that the perspectives and expertise of various partners are considered in GEO's initiatives for the benefit of society.

Climate Change Working Group

Crafting and implementing a thorough GEO strategy for climate action as well as promoting Earth observations for adaptation and mitigation in line with Paris Agreement goals.
