Linkedin pe designers ka parda faash karte rehta hu. 🫣 Aaj khud ki baari. I like to think I do ‘good work’. I’ve been told. And repeatedly so. But I’ve noticed that good work, or even impressive work IS NOW THE NORM! Kaise? There’s AI, free resources, countless tools. Almost anyone can produce work of a certain quality. But now, the “WOW” factor is nowhere to be found. SABKA KAAM SAME LAGNE LAGA HAI, NAHI? Toh mere “good work” work ki koi value hi nahi reh gai. These days it's just about things looking good. And ANYONE can achieve that. So here’s my plan to fix this: → don’t settle for “good” →  If your work looks similar to someone else’s, delete kardo usi time.  → The process, the struggle, the “why” behind what you create matters more than ever.  Wo personality add karo apne design mein. Even it’s a 1.5hrs video you don’t feel its long Some of my takeaways: 1️⃣ Now users automatically know that if it’s a banner, it’s an ad space they tend to skip. Now we’re forced to create our promotional banner in the form of a UI element. 2️⃣ Users need everything upfront. At the same time, they don’t want to see ads for the product. 3️⃣ You will instantly scroll off something that feels like an ad. ➡️ If you actually ended up buying something by Instagram, it was a beautiful product that just caught your attention. 🔄 Consumer Behavior has shifted. People have learned when to stop and when to just scroll. This changes your marketing strategy with the changing mindset of people. ⏱️ The first three seconds are crucial. If it's not interesting enough, people skip it. 💼 Working with small-scale influencers and making performance ads with them on their mobile worked better than professional ads. 🔍 First value human insights. 🔑 The best and cheapest way to do it, though it comes at the cost of time, is to go and observe more. Please do observe people doing whatever task you had in mind for which you wanted a solution. ✔️ You have to ensure that every member of their team has a clear problem in mind. How Easy is Redesigning an Existing Template? . . I recently reviewed a colleague's portfolio and was inspired by a design she had redesigned from an existing template. When she mentioned how long it took her to redefine and replace even the tiniest details, I realized that redesigning is, in essence, designing all over again. . Lately, there's been a lot of debate about copying and pasting designs. My take on this is that "no design is new," but designs can be recreated with new ideas to make them unique and personal. This approach ensures that you are not seen as a copy/paste designer but as someone who brings fresh perspectives to existing concepts... . Redesigning existing templates can be highly beneficial: . 1. Efficiency: Saves time on the initial layout and structure, allowing you to focus on customization. 2. Learning: Enhances your design skills by working on and improving existing frameworks. 3. Innovation: Encourages creative thinking as you find ways to improve and personalize the template. 4. Consistency: Maintains a tried-and-true design foundation while tailoring it to specific needs. . So, I took it upon myself to try out redesigning an existing template for the first time, as my learning doesn't give room to be a copy and paste designer. I learned the process of proper foundational knowledge where I had to draw out a button and tune every element without relying on existing ones. This approach instilled a love for design in me, and despite the challenges, it has taught me the value of hard work. . On the issue of redesigning, I learned: 1. Attention to Detail: Every small element, from buttons to icons, requires careful consideration and customization. 2. Creativity within Constraints: Working within an existing framework pushes you to innovate and improve upon the original design. 3. Understanding Design Principles: Redesigning reinforces the foundational principles of design, ensuring that each element is purposeful and effective. 4. Patience and Perseverance: The process is time-consuming and can be challenging, but it builds resilience and dedication. 5. Originality in Redesign: Even when using a template, the goal is to infuse your unique style and ideas, transforming it into a truly personalized design. . These designs are a product of an existing template I found interesting enough to recreate to fit my own preferences. Each of these sections has been meticulously designed to enhance user experience and streamline HR processes.
