We have defined the five stages of environmental education: 1. Awareness: Understand the need for change and the urgency for action. 2. Engagement: Align personal values with the initiative's objectives. 3. Expertise: Upskill and empower to become active participants. 4. Actions: Implement actions and solutions for problem-solving and decision-making. 5. Advocacy: Sustain improved behaviors, skills, and roles. 🚨 EU Approves Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDDD) 🌍 On the 24th of May, the Council of the European Union has officially approved the EU Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence (CSDDD). This landmark legislation mandates EU and non-EU companies to comply with human rights and environmental standards, marking a significant shift towards mandatory corporate responsibility. 🍃 Key Benefits and Obligations Human Rights and Environmental Standards: 🇪🇺 Companies must identify and mitigate adverse impacts on human rights and the environment, ensuring responsible and ethical operations. Harmonized Legal Framework: 🇪🇺 The directive creates legal certainty and a level playing field across the EU, reducing uncertainty and ensuring fair competition. Enhanced Trust and Competitiveness: 🇪🇺 Increased customer trust and employee commitment. Improved risk management, resilience, and competitiveness. Support for Developing Countries: 🇪🇺 Promotes sustainable practices and improves living conditions in developing countries. 🍃 A Global Benchmark Setting Standards: 🇪🇺The EU is leading the way in fostering international human rights and environmental stewardship. Implementation: 🇪🇺The directive will soon be transposed into national law, ensuring businesses have adequate time to adapt and comply. Enforcement: 🇪🇺Strong enforcement mechanisms include administrative supervision and civil liability to ensure compliance and compensation for damages. 📢 EU Postpones Sustainability Reporting Requirements under CSRD The European Council has announced a two-year postponement of new sectoral reporting standards under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This delay, effective from May 28, 2024, aims to provide more time to develop appropriate standards for specific sectors and non-EU companies. 🌍 What Does This Mean? Companies can now focus on implementing the first set of European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) without additional immediate reporting burdens. The postponement is expected to ease the transition for around 50,000 companies in the EU, including those in oil and gas, mining, road transport, food, automotive, agricultural, energy, and textile industries. This extension is aligned with the European Commission's commitment to long-term competitiveness, addressing concerns about the reporting burden on businesses. 📈 Looking Ahead: The new deadline for sector-specific sustainability reporting standards is June 30, 2026. Companies will have more time to adapt and ensure compliance with the new sustainability directives. Deforestation has become one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. Every year, millions of hectares of forest are lost to urban expansion, intensive agriculture, unsustainable logging and other human activities. Agriculture, for example, is responsible for 80% of this deforestation. The consequences of this destruction are truly catastrophic and irreversible for our planet 🌳. Deforestation is a major cause of climate change (7.6 billion tonnes of CO2 per year). Forests absorb CO2 and act as carbon sinks. When trees are cut down or burned, CO2 is released. This massive release of CO2 greatly accelerates global warming. 🌡️ By destroying these natural environments, human activities also threaten the existence of highly vulnerable plant and animal species. This can have a major impact on the balance of nature. Soil is also weakened by deforestation. In fact, the presence of a forest on a soil favours a better concentration of organic matter, but also greater resistance to weather conditions or erosion. So when forests are destroyed, the soil gradually deteriorates and the ecosystem becomes more vulnerable to natural disasters such as landslides or floods.💧 Action is therefore needed to halt deforestation, which is responsible for 11.3% of man-made CO2 emissions. Preserving forests is crucial not only for limiting CO2 emissions, but also for preserving the biodiversity and ecosystems that are essential to our survival.🌍 (Image generated by AI)

Unfortunately, almost all employees are disengaged and lack the motivation to use their skills to the fullest. 📉 Traditional corporate training programs are often boring and provide a learning model that is not interactive. Employees are also very interested in development programs, but companies often lack effectiveness and creativity in their training programs.💡 Integrating creative training methods such as gamification and innovative tools can inspire employees to want to learn, dramatically changing the learning culture and therefore employee performance. Gamification is a new, far more effective way of learning because it integrates the philosophy of play (found in board games and videos) into learning.🧠 This creativity in employee learning energizes employees and makes them want to discover and invest even more in their professional missions.
