Our story begins in 1945, with a single room. 100 square meters, in an outbuilding of the castle mill in Künzelsau. It is here that Adolf Würth lays the foundation for a company that would grow into a globally operating group, leading in the development, production and sale of assembly and fastening materials. As part of our then & now series, we explore a variety of topics and trace their development from the early days to the present. Today: our company headquarters in Künzelsau-Gaisbach. The space in the outbuilding of the castle mill quickly becomes too small for the rapidly growing business. A new building is being built, followed by the move to the new premises. 1952: The first company-owned building is located near the train station in Künzelsau. 1969: The move to Gaisbach took place. And from there, the development continues: With each groundbreaking ceremony, a new chapter opens up in the company’s successful history. Over the decades, we have built, expanded, relocated, celebrated. And repeatedly reimagined what is possible. Today, the campus in Künzelsau-Gaisbach is much more than just the headquarters of the globally operating Würth Group: It houses not only the administration but also highly automated distribution centers, a powerful innovation center and our own museums showcasing world-class art. More than 400 companies in 80 countries around the world are now part of the Würth Group, yet the roots, the vibrant heart of this family-owned enterprise, are and will remain in the Hohenlohe region.

The wood screws were launched in 1992 and have been developed further ever since. Since 2020, the fourth generation, ASSY® plus 4, has been on the market. The special tip allows for the screw to be fastened in a precise and quick manner. The integrated milling ribs reduce the screwing resistance. These properties make the screw particularly functional and make working on the construction site easier. The latest ASSY screw is the result of decades of research and development in the field of fasteners. It stands for our innovative strength and is used worldwide in timber construction.🪵 💡At the Reinhold Würth Innovation Center Curio, we are constantly developing our wood screw in order to streamline customers’ work processes and thus make their work easier. The screws are produced at SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH | Produktion just 10 kilometers from the headquarters in Künzelsau-Gaisbach.

This year’s stage set for the opera The Flying Dutchman, built by our long-time customer Winter Artservice GmbH, is truly impressive. The premiere took place on July 9 at the St. Margarethen Quarry in Burgenland, Austria – and the stage is massive: 🔹 6,500 m² of wood panels 🔹 600 m³ of Styrofoam 🔹 42 tons of steel 🔹 6 km of substructures 🔹 And: around 500,000 Würth screws 🔩 “To hold all these materials together, we use about half a million Würth screws – before everything gets covered in six tons of plaster and paint. Würth’s fastening systems are essential for building this stage,” says Christopher Winter, Managing Director of Winter Artservice. We’re proud to be part of this unique project! 📸 © Esterhazy Würth Österreich

80 years of Würth Group stand for growth, a passion for innovation, and continued success. ✨ Change is part of who we are. Only those who courageously explore new paths and remain open to fresh perspectives can remain future-ready. But amid all the change, one thing has remained constant: our corporate culture. It is the stable foundation of our success, built on strong values and the belief that success is something to be celebrated together. Let’s remember the very first company outing on 17 July 1957: with five people, they set off in Reinhold Würth’s Mercedes 190, travelling through Baden-Baden, along the Black Forest High Road and past the Schwarzenbach Dam to the Mummelsee. Or the performance by Heino at the Künzelsau town hall to mark the company’s 25th anniversary. Another highlight that has turned into an important fixed point over the decades is the Jour fixe of the Würth Group: Every year, colleagues from Würth Group companies meet for three unforgettable days and explore the roots of the Würth Group in the beautiful Hohenlohe region—a tribute to outstanding performance and a heartfelt way of saying thank you. Standing together, working together, celebrating success together. This is Würth. Then and now.

Promoting the arts, and classical music in particular, is an integral part of Reinhold Würth’s cultural and entrepreneurial identity. 🎶 As an entrepreneur and patron of the arts, who also learned to play the violin, Reinhold Würth began supporting musicians in the 1970s, organized concerts in his home and has continued his support as part of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG’s cultural program since 1999. With the establishment of Würth Philharmoniker and Reinhold Würth Musikstiftung in 2017, as well as the construction of CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM in Künzelsau-Gaisbach, he gave classical music a permanent home at the company. There, music lover Reinhold Würth makes high-profile concerts accessible to a wide audience. Würth Philharmoniker as the philharmonic orchestra of Reinhold Würth Musikstiftung gGmbH, directed by their chief conductor Claudio Vandelli, came into being on the initiative of Reinhold Würth. Since 2017, when Carmen Würth Forum was opened, Würth Philharmoniker has welcomed internationally renowned artists to the conductor's stand and on stage for regularly sold-out concerts. The orchestra also performed in major concert halls around the world, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg. 🎼To give you a sense of the orchestra’s musical presence, we’re sharing an excerpt from Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 – “From the New World”. Recorded by medici.tv.

Greenland on Skis: Würth supported 16-Year-Old Amira Blum to cross the ice cap ❄️ 558 kilometers. 26 days. Temperatures down to minus 35 degrees Celsius. What sounds like the outline of a polar expedition led by seasoned explorers was, in fact, a father-daughter journey – and a remarkable one at that. This summer, 16-year-old Amira Blum from Davos became the youngest European to cross Greenland’s inland ice entirely on foot and skis. Accompanied only by her father, adventurer and polar expert Markus Blum, she traversed the world's largest island from west to east – unassisted, without a guide team, and completely self-sufficient. As a main sponsor, Würth supported this exceptional project. Not because of the record – but because of the spirit behind it: a shared goal, months of preparation, and the ability to rely on each other when it counts. The two hauled 180 kilograms of gear on sleds: food, tent, fuel, and everything needed to survive on the ice for nearly a month. Their route led past crevassed glaciers, through whiteouts and over the desolate summit at 2,500 meters. Take a look at the photos from the expedition, which almost speak for themselves – raw, quiet, and strikingly beautiful. 📸 Credits: Markus Blum

Two days full of AI power! At the AI Festival in Heilbronn, Würth Deutschland and Würth IT GmbH presented three innovative AI use cases that support our sales department in its daily work: 1Plus plans tours, recommends products and designs prices with the help of AI. The PICO voice assistant performs simple tasks in the office and in the field. And Würth Lens enables quick visual product searches. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared their thoughts with us. The conversations with experts gave us a lot to think about – and a few ideas to take home. AI at Würth means that we are looking for specific use cases that offer our customers and employees added value. We share successful projects and knowledge with other companies within the Würth Group. The IPAI offers ideal conditions for this: It is about exchanging ideas with other companies, learning from each other and jointly developing innovative solutions for selected projects. We look forward to continuing to play an active role in shaping the future of AI! 🚀
